Repaired fuel injection system and charged me part of that which i assumed was covered under warranty seat belt has not been repaired they say it is not their problem but according to nhtsa, belts are manufacturer?s problem. transmission: we were in traffic in march in houston tx when transmission decided not to work properly. downshifting in traffic nearly causing a major accident .the dodge place said it was the valve body which was not the problem at the time the band needed adjusting which cost $87.00 and they said it would cost 1300.00 to fix i pulled into traffic and it did it again 7 months later it is out of warranty so tried to remedy problem & ourself could not do. called dodge corp. and was told to take to dealership to see if they could help us financially fix this. we did they said they would except $200. i said ok fix the problem then they called back and said since somebody else had put parts on it they would not fix it. i told them that before they started. so go figure. i consider this a safety issue just because of it down shifting in traffic alone but to no avail

Fuel pump quit working.had to put a new injector pump on. transmission has a cracked tail shaft adaptor. these are both unusual things to normally happen. although the truck is out of warranty this time, i feel that this is the fault of the vehicle and was most likely a defect from the beginning. a hairline crack was discovered at a place where it could not have normally been damaged.

Informed by other cummins diesel owners , and chrysler technition, that pump failure is not a question of if, but a matter of time. owners have to install extra guages & equip to monitor a manufacturers weak link ,at no small expense.*ak

Plastic gas tank is rubbing, causing squeaking noise. dealer was supposed to have district representative contact, which never happened. truck has been in shop 6 times for problem.*ak

I drove over scrap metal road debris at night. it bounced up and slashed a 2 foot gash in the soft cell fuel tank, which protrudes at least 3 inches below the chassis frame. tank was nearly full and all fuel leaked out. luckily, there was no fire. vehicle was rendered inoperable and had to be towed to dealer for repairs. i believe this is a bad design to have a soft cell fuel tank exposed as it is on this truck. there should be some sort of metal frame or box around the fuel tank to prevent punture from road debris. there is nothing to prevent this from happening again and possibly causing a fire.

Absence of baffle in fuel tank allows gas to slam forward and back in tank, subjecting connections to stress and potential failure and fire hazard. *ak
