The dash in my truck has cracked from the from to the rear of the dash like alot of of the dodgeram have done but yet there has not been a recall for this issue. what is it going to take before anyone does anything about this issue. is someone waiting to have a airbag go off and send the dash in little pices or one large pice to cause a fatal accident or what this is a saftey issue.

On my dodge quad cab 2500 front dash, i noticed a small crack starting at near the speaker grill in 2006, and thought it was an isolated case. over the years since 2006, the front dash has completely failed due to numerous major cracks in all locations and going in various directions. the truck has always been garaged and pieces of the dash now have fallen down to inaccessable areas below the dash. it has been documented for various years that these dashes have been made from an inferior grade plastic prone to cracking and it is a major safety hazard. because it becomes so brittle and prone to cracking, that during an accident, the dash could shatter and injur the occupants.

Got into truck to take a ride and noticed the dash was cracked in two places. i'm afraid the thing is going fly into the face of someone on the passenger side if i'm in an accident.

Dash began cracking and now pieces falling down while driving. i purchased a replacement from a junk yard and had it installed. now this one is also cracking and won't be long until its as bad as the original. dodge wants $800 for a new one and it will cost me another $335 to have it installed. this is ridiculous. what kind of material could possibly have a shelve life of exactly 10 years. secondly how can the new replacement (that will also have a 10year shelve life) be so expensive? my son drives a 20year old ford truck and the dash is perfect. i used to love this truck and now we hate it. so frustrating.

I'm the first owner of this vehicle and the dash started cracking at 65,000 miles. so far there are 5 different cracks.

I purchased the truck with 124,000 miles and noticed the dash was cracked on my drive from tennessee back to florida. it makes noise, looks like crap, and keeps me from setting anything on the dash board. this is something that is veryyyyyyyyyyyyy common on dodges, if not a right of passage. they need to address the issues and step up and take care of dodge owners. dodge, you were cheap on the manufacturing, now you need to make it right.

Front axle shaking violently. shakes consistantly going over bridges. shook so hard one time it broke the adjusting sleeve on the drag link leaving me with no steering and vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane and into the grass coming to a stop just before hitting the guardrail. since this incident the ball joints and tie rods have been replaced along with the steering stabilizer. the front axle has been aligned and everthing is to oem specifications and this vehicle will still shake going over bridges if your running 70mph. from the reasearch ive done it apperas there is a problem on these dodge trucks if they are 4x4 with a straight front axle and short wheel base. i have seen kits on the internet that claim to fix the death wobble and the geometry of the fix is different than oem. i hope that you will investigate this issue and i would be more than happy to take you for a ride in my vehicle or let anyone inspect it.

Well have you heard of the death wobble!!!????? google this and it will tell you exactly! my husbands truck hops at 70 mph on the freeway almost causing a huge accident! why the hell after all the complaints nothing has been done with this issue! thousands of people are talking about this online!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All dodge ram from 2000-2005 have dash problems. they break and fall apart. they cost around $1500-1800 to get them replaced. they dont tell you when you buy it. so why does the nhtsa not do anything about it. if you have wreck and the airbags deploy, there are sharp edges in between you and the bags. they will cut your face, arms, or worse kill you. is it going to take innocent people getting murdered by dodge negligence for somebody to do something. they are defective. make dodge recall the dash and install a new safer one. i do not want people to be killed, including myself and family.

Dash started cracking around 65,000 miles and keeps cracking. the cracks have caused the dash to separate causing the defroster vents not to blow correctly across windshield ( will not defrost). dash is starting to drop down in different areas which may cause electrical failures or electrical fire. truck is in pristine condition ( other than dash) with only 80,000 miles.

The plastic dash cracked resulting in the air conditioner and defroster not operating correctly. pieces of foam are coming out of the a/c registers and blowing into my face almost hitting me in the eye on occasion. the plastic dash is obviously made of defective material. i have never seen a dash crack into pieces this badly.

I have a 2003 dodge ram 2500,as of this evening i had all the major steering components replaced, at a cost of nearly $2500.00 to solve what is commomly known as the dodge death wobble, the first expansion joint in the road, after i pick my truck up, caused my truck to shake violently, and nearly out of control again. this is not the first time this has happened, dodge wont admit that there is a problem and keeps selling me replacement parts without any resolve. the violent shaking contiues. i can not even contemplate selling this vehicle because my concience wont allow me to put another persons safety in jeoprody please help us!!! dodge won't!!!!!!!

I was driving on a four lane highway at 65-70mph. i heard a loud snap noise and notice the dashboard on the passanger side had a 8-12 crack on the top and about a 4-7 on the front, directly in the area of the passanger air bag. this can not be safe! it also displays some poor integrity of construction and/or materials used. since the incident, the dash has continued to crack and split further. the dodge dealership turned me away and explained it wasnt their problem....
06/21/200620000
The first occurrence was at 20000 miles, (death wobble), it did not happen for another year. since then it has gotten more frequent, virtually every time i get on the highway. i have upgraded steering linkage to 09'.,new track bar, steering dampner , ball joints and also the gearbox frame brace w/pitnam arm bearing kit. i still have the death wobble. i now have around 58000 mi. i love my truck, just not the wobble, i would not feel right by selling it like this.

Dodge ram 2500 dashboard is cracked in several places. the main crack is on the passenger side right by the airbag. there are several other cracks throughout the dashboard.

I own a 2003 dodge ram 2500. the dash board has one large crack/hole and multiple little cracks throuout from the drivers side to the passenger side, and front to back. the plastic is brittle and i am concerned that during a crash the pieces will become projectiles and shards that could punture airbags and people causing serious injury. i checked into replacing the part only to find that this is a problem with many of the truck lines of dodge from 1998 through 2006 and the replacements are of the same material and would be prone to crack in short time just as the original dases had. as a former firefighter having responded to many accidents i see this as a time bomb to a death that is not neccessary if it hasn't already happened. the dash, i thought, was supposed to remain flexible for the deployment of airbags but instead will be shattered by the airbag deployment and be blown right into the face of the very person they were supposed to protect causing in all likelyhood severe injuries.

Dash has cracked from windshield to top of airbag, passenger side left of airbag. now hole in top of dash the size of golf ball and dash constantly creeks and pops while driving.

Traveling home from work on i-65 near elizabethtown, ky when all of a sudden my vehicle went to 90 mph within seconds. i first tried to hit the brake to take off the cruise, that did nothing, i then pushed in the clutch and the engine screamed and the speakers blew, still going 90 mph i manually turned off the cruise and that slowed it down. there is a recall, but dodge/chrysler will not honor because the ecm needs replaced not reprogrammed. dodge wants $3,473.00 from me to fix. my truck according to dodge had the recall done, but obviously the problem is not fixed. i don't want to die or kill someone if my truck goes out of control again. i don't think it should matter if it needs reprogrammed or replaced. a recall is a recall and admits to a problem. this recall refers to vehicle speed control recall#69118 called chrysler 18007638422 spoke to brian bo52 and local dealer swope dodge in e-town they ran a test to find the problem which is the ecm needed replaced. this would not need replaced if the speed control worked properly. thank you

I drive a 2003 dodge ram 2500 with 113,00 miles. while driving at approximately 65mph i hit a slightly rough patch of road. the truck began shaking violently to the point of completely loosing control of the vehicle. this violent shaking could be reproduced any time i drove over a bump in the highway at normal highway speeds. i took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who replaced the shocks, steering dampener and steering box that was leaking. he stated that none of these parts were worn to the point that he felt they should cause the problem that he experianced and termed an unexceptable safety hazard. the shaking has been reduced with these repairs but not eliminated. the mechanic now feels the ball joints may be the next approach to a fix although these again are not that worn.

I have a 2003 dodge ram 2500 and i am concerned that after 3 years the plastic dash is cracking and getting worse. the replacement cost is way too much and propably won't last. i think this is a safety issue that should be addressed for the simple reason, if i was in an accident with a passenger and the person put there hands on the dash out of reaction it could possibly lead to some deep lacerations to the hands and forearms. from reading on the internet, dodge is well aware of the problem but will not adress it. thank you for your consideration on a recall for this item.
