While driving down the highway at 70 mph i hit a rough spot in the road and truck began to shake violently. i had no control until i slowed down to under 50 mph. there was heavy traffic as it was rush hour and i almost caused a serious accident. after researching the internet i have found this to be a common problem in dodge trucks and jeeps. there are many youtube videos, it has been on national news and there are many complaints on nhtsa.dot.gov also. is it going to take someone getting killed to get this defect recalled? the dealerships refuse to acknowledge this defect and use it as an excuse to replace every component in your front end and charge you thousands of dollars. please address this before someone gets killed. *tr

After hitting a bump at highway speed the front end of my truck violently shook until i reduced speed to around 50mph. after researching issue on line i found this issue is so common that it is now referred to as the dodge death wobble. when this happened to me i was unable to steer until i slowed enough to stop the violent shaking. i contacted the local dodge dealer to see if there were any recalls for this and they told me that this was the first time that they had heard of this issue. i had the dealership look at my truck several months before and they found nothing. i had les schwab look it over and they found nothing. several on line posts indicated similar results. to get a better idea of the extent of the issue just go to you tube and type in dodge death wobble and you will see plenty of videos with the exact issue i experienced.

2006 dodge ram 2500 quad cab laramie with diesel - vehicle begins to shake/wobble at around 40mph and gets progressively worse. when i hit a small bump - vehicle violently shakes out of control - loss of steering occurs - and have virtually no control until i bring speed down under 20-3omph. this is an extremely dangerous condition. have had 2 dealerships inspect and find nothing wrong. had a good truck shop in town inspect - no idea whats causing this issue. i do not have $5k+ to give dodge to put on a full 2009 model years suspension. they have done multiple recalls, none of which fix this issue. i just want my truck to drive normally without fearing going over 45mph.

Driving down the interstate/highway at speeds greater than 60 miles an hour, more of an issue when the cruise control is on and there is continuing accelerartion. the truck began to rock back and fourth uncontrolably similar to other complaints on the website in which they refer to it as the death wobble. i even had one instance about 2 months ago when the truck rear tires were lifted off the ground and went back in fourth between two lanes, a gentlemen was forced into the ditch, i approached the gentleman and he commented on the truck and the make and the fact he had heard that it was the dodge death wobble. i have contacted dodge numerous times about the incidents, the latest and greatest from the dealership i contacted blamed it on the state road conditions and there inability to maintain the roads my response to him was then why didn't everyone elses vehicle do that? no response, i even offered to take them on a ride but no one seemd to enthused about that. after ivesigating the comments on forums and everything eventually lead me here. i have had similar issues in over 20 occurances i want to sale the vehicle but how do you from an ethical standpoint knowing the person buying the vehicle could possibly be in a box shortly there after. i'm currious to know how many people have died from this?

While driving on the garden state parkway the front end of the vehicle began shaking violently. once the shakling began the vehicle was totally out of control. once i slowed to 45 mph the shaking stopped however during this time the vehicle was driving itself. thankfully there was no crash and i was able to continue driving. the next day during my commute the same exact thing happen. a check of the vehicle reveals no worn parts including the tires and tie rods. a check of the internet shows this is a common problem and referred to as the death wobble and was even the subject of discussion on the news. this is extremely dangerous and will lead to accidents and injuries. this matter that chrysler is aware of needs more attention and a recall should be announced. i am told that the track bar is the problem and will be repaired asap *cn
