2007 dodge ram 2500. consumer requests reimbursement for repairs concerning diesel fuel and engine *tgw the consumer stated while driving, he began to smell diesel fuel. he then noticed the fuel gauge started going down. smoke starting emitting from under the hood, so he quickly pulled over to the next rest stop area. the consumer raised the hood and discovered fuel all over the engine, under the truck and on the travel trailer he was pulling. the truck was taken to a mechanic where he diagnosed the problem as the #4 injector line which was leaking. *jb

Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) allen samuels dodge in waco declined to fix my dodge ram 2500 with 39,000 mi. they said at one time or another that there was water in my diesel. that is all they had to come up with to not have to pay for the problem with warrenty. i have 100,000 mi. warrenty on drivetrain, which is really no good if you can't use it. i think dodge should not be able to advertise on tv for 100,000 mi. warrenty when they know they can get out of warrenting the vehicle. that is a bull [xxx] line not to pay. this cost me 4,322.91. they said they had to replace all 6 injectors to fix my problem. started out replacing 2, but that was not going to fix the problem. so that is how they got to replacing all 6 injectors. tried to call and work with dodge chrysler assistance program. only talked to women about my 5.9 diesel engine. the women assigned my case worker to me named ryan. he never once contacted me about the problem. guess they are well trained to do a bad job. *tr

We own a 2007 dodge ram 2500 6.7 liter diesel 4 x4 truck, bought with 7311 miles and a full warranty. we bought in january 2008. it has numerous issues that make me literally vomit when i have to drive it. we have had 6 repairs to this vehicle since june 2008 for emission/turbo/wiring/transmission issues. i do not feel safe in this truck and the dealership says they have fixed it everytime. a vehicle that loses engine and transmission power on the highway is not a safe means of transportation. they always tell me it is being taken care of by dodge recall/computer flashes, but this truck has been a nightmare since we bought it. our first issue began in april 2008 with a constant engine warning light blaring at us all the time. the dealer told us it just something these trucks do. it could be one of 200 small things, keep driving it, it's ok. vehicle began stalling and hesitating on me in traffic, i felt it was unsafe and took it to dealership. the first of many 02 sensor recall/replacement/cleanings. it lost power again in august 2008 and i had to be towed in. another 02/turbo issue. again in october 2008 lost power, ditto for repairs. next time it broke down was february 20090. ditto for turbo/emission. most recently was july 2009. engine and transmission stalled out on me pulling onto a busy highway.....twice in one week. dealer couldn't duplicate issue with computer, finally decided it was probably a wiring issue and replaced a harness. i have told the service dept that this vehicle is not safe, and i have complained to chrysler. they tell me it is repaired and that is all they can do. i need help getting this vehicle off of the road. the dealer and chrysler don't seem to think the safety of my children is very important. i hope somebody in your department does. does it take a death or serious accident to have these issues evaluated? *tr

2007 dodge ram 2500 w/ 6.7 diesel has major problem with exhaust system, a dpf (diesel particulate filter) clogs up in as early as 2500 miles and clogs continuously if vehicle is not (driven like you stole it) as suggested to me by dealer, this problem increases exhaust temps, and causes vehicle to cut out and hesitate on take offs and requires constant repair at the dealer, there are aftermarket parts to fix problem but it is recommended for offroad use only. but many of my friends have made the changes and have had no further problems. *tr

Within two weeks of purchasing the 2007 dodge ram 2500 slt reg w/ turbo, (delivery date of 07/12/07) the check engine light came on. the dealership we purchased from said not to worry about it unless it came on permanently. on 07/27/07, took truck in for left speaker issue & check engine, they just cleared the codes for the check engine light. took back 08/27/07, engine code p254a, cleaned sensor. called dealer 09/15/07, check engine' light back on for longer than 3 days, they said not to worry about it as long as the light was not flashing or staying on. called them 09/27/07, took truck back 10/03/07, check engine light codes p2262, they performed carbon clearing procedure. took truck back on 10/08/07, they did not make note of check engine code on work order, but they wrote turbo assy. failure, replaced and cleared code. on 11/30/07, check engine light on again, performed emissions recall and sensor and reprogram ecm. during 12/07 thru 01/08, check engine light still remained on most of the time, but was extremely busy working plowing snow and could not take back until 02/01/08, engine code p1451. they did flash ecm as per tsb. by this time thoroughly upset with truck, manufacturer, etc. engine light remained on again 03/08 through 06/08. on 07/03/08 took back again, engine code p2262 and p2000. they performed computer update. again light on almost from onset of last visit. on 08/19/08, engine light, code p2000, they performed flash update to engine control. picked up truck on 08/19/08, and check engine light came on 08/21/08. they could not get truck in until today 08/25/08. truck still there tonight as the code came up that stated they needed to once again clean and they could not get it done today. (note: they did not tell me over the phone what code came up, just that they had to clean the turbo. we, my dad and i and my mom have lost considerable money in lost work time in having to take truck for repair, let alone the inconvenience of it all! *tr
FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE

My 2007 dodge ram 2500 with 68,500 miles, left me on the side of the road. according to the dealership the fuel tank vent has allowed dirt and other contaminents in to the fuel system. this in turn clogged several other components. to fix the problem they had to drop the fuel tank, clean and flush the system, dispence of 34 gallons of fuel, install a vent up fit kit($675.00) and re-install fuel tank. total cost to me...$1175.00 dealeship, plus 34gal. of fuel (34gal. x $3.85) = $130.90. if they have an up fit kit, wouldn't that suggest dodge has knowledge of this problem? wouldn't that amount to a recall if the origonal equipment was sub-par and needed to be repaired with a heavier version? i think so!

Several issues we are dealing with. first, this is one that the dealership/service, can't even get right. the check engine light will not come off. they say it's because of the gas cap, but we are aware how to put the gas cap on. also, we noticed yesterday that our paint is bubbling up on the hood and roof. this is very annoying, since our truck only has approx. 13,500 miles on it. also, this morning the electronic throttle control light came on, and we are not sure what is causing this. we looked in our truck manual, and cannot find anything on it. *tr
