On numerous occasions my truck has went into a violent shaking. known by many as the dodge death wobble. i have spoken with dodge on this issue at two different dealerships and they are aware of the issue but seem to refuse to fix or recall it. i have seen numerous fixes that my or may not fix the issue but at owners expense. this is ridiculous on a $40,000 vehicle in my opinion. i am truly amazed no one has been injured or killed from this issue. *tr

Was driving on us 119 in wv traveling at about 65 mph and ran over one of the expansions joints on the roadway. front end of the truck immediately started shaking and wobbling out of control, having to slow down to around 10 or 15 mph to gain control back. had owned the truck for a few months with no problems until then. i have had garages to tell me to replace this and that to fix problem, being told that dodge was aware of the problem. as of this date i have had nothing done that has fixed problem, it is somewhat better as long as you stay under around 50 mph or so. the truck has done it approximately 15 to 20 times since then, having to slow down almost completely to get control of truck. since having gone thru this problem, i have read and talked to people about having the same problem with the same model of truck and have found out that i am not alone with this concern about my truck. *tr

Starting 3 years ago my truck started doing the death wobble at speeds of 35 and up when ever you hit any bump in the road, the wheel would shake so violently it would cause the loss of control for steering. the first time it hapined to me the truck went into a ditch and threw me into the window, it has continued to happen for years now. dealerships have said nothing is wrong, enen though it continues to happen. i only have 38k miles on the truck beacuse i am afraid to drive it with my family inside due to this condition. something needs to be done about this, it has been an on going problem for at lease 10 years now. dodge needs to come up with a recall before anyone else looses there life or more property damage occurs. the problem is a known fact and the goverment can see the track records of the failure. please help us consumers!!!!!!!

While driving the vehicle at approximately 50mph, and after hitting a bump/pothole in the roadway, the vehicle began to shake violently, nearly causing a collision. the vehicle is still under extended warranty and was diagnosed by putnam dodge in burlingame as needing the steering stabilizer replaced. on 1/12/12, i replaced the stabilizer and had the alignment checked, and again the violent shaking occurred at approximately 50 mph. once the shaking starts it is very difficult to control the vehicle, the only way to get it to stop is to brake dramatically. in one instance, i was on an overpass and narrowly avoided a collision.

I purchased a used 2007 dodge power wagon from a small dealership in may of 2011. i have been a loyale dodge owner for many years and don't know why. upon test driving this truck before the purchase i felt a shake in the front end. i spoke with the privious owner who indicated the tires were the issue. i took a chance a bought the truck as is with no warranty implied. i have researsed the dodge death wobble because i knew it would just be a matter of time before i experience it. i was right. i knew that replacing parts was not the answer after reading many complaints on the web. like a dummy, i took it in to a couple different places. i called the dealer and asked if there was a fix and they did not know of any. my research took me to a well known heavy duty truck shop. i told him about this issue and he was very convinsing that they could repair it. this tech/owner knew more about this problem then dodge. again, i took the chance i spent over $650.00. he had issued me a tsb from dodge that stated replacing all 4 tie rods and doing a special allignment would cure it. nope! since the purchace i have replace all 4 tires, steering dampner shock, all 4 tie rods, and numerious tire ballancing and allignments. i feel like an idiot. i'm doing exactly what i said i would'nt, spend big money for a known saftey issue from dodge! my complaint is the very known death wobble. i should have wrote when i went through dodges transmission problems. i'm a hard working, tax paying, family man who pays his bills and so on... yes, it does boil down to getting personal. consumers are taking the hit for so many thing. if i were to do something that was right i would do everything i could to make it right. dodge needs to wake up and realize they have a huge saftey issue that could end many lives! please read/reserch these may complaints and make it right for the people.

2007 dodge ram passenger side tie rod end dropped out while driving approx 45 mph on back road. lost all steering function, as left side is attached to right side. narrowly avoided collision with several trees and a small bridge. truck finally stopped in oncoming ditch. tie rods had been replaced by dealer under warranty approx 30k miles prior. truck drove normal until this point, but tie rods had started showing wear previously, but not serious enough to cause any alarm. dealership was unwilling to replace tie rods under warranty for the third time, as it was the last week of said warranty. replaced parts with heavy duty aftermarket parts at my own expense. dealership had inspected truck on a previous trip and said truck had updated steering linkages and components.

When traveling down the road and come across a bump, lift, or dip in the road the truck will violently shake. i took a road trip to florida recently and i experienced the death wobble at 90 mph, it made me cross into the next lane then into the median. talking about scary!i have researched this on the internet a lot and it appears the be called the death wobble. i am very concerned with the fact that dodge has not issued a recall for this. why? plenty of people have the problem! its obviously a flaw in the dodge design not being able to support the weight of the cummins diesel. i have looked into getting this 08 steering upgrade but the dealer wants $975 to fix it and can not guarantee that it will fix it.

1.my trucks has had the famous dodge death wobble where when you hit a bump the tires start shaking out of control and you have to stop the truck to make it quit. 2.driving down the interstate and hot a bump and its started to death wobble and snaped the tie rod end to the pit men arm at the tierod end sleve which cause loss or all steering luckly i made it off in the ditch with out killing any one,had my liltle 14 year old brother with me 3.upgraded tierod ends, steering dampner and steering linkage(because chryler knows this is a problem) its a very common problem its all over forums, yes there is a recall on tie rod ends where the jont breaks this 1 the the rod part still a common problem and i took my truck to see about the recall and they said mine was ok 3 days later this even happend lucky no 1 has died.the dealer ship kept the old parts but i do have pictures

Severe wobble/shaking of front end at speeds between 50mph to 70mph, after hitting normal bumps along the highways. my truck has 55000 miles in it. apperantly it is happening to alot of dodge 2500 diesel owners, however, dodge is not backing up their products and says that the owners are responsible for a factory defect. i am scared to put my wife and kids in my truck for fear of something breaking in the front end and crashing. i have checked the ball joints, bearings, bushings etc and have not seen anything wrong to indicate why this is happening. hopefully with enough complaints dodge will issue a safety recall and fix this problem before it costs someone their life.

I have experienced the infamous dodge death wobble numerous times in the past 3 months. i have a 2007 2500 dodge ram truck that i bought used a year ago. three months ago, driving on the interstate going about 65 mph i came upon a bridge approch slab and once i hit it the truck began violently shaking. afterwards i did research on the issue and discovered what i experienced matched what is known as the dodge death wobble. i contacted my dealer and they said dodge has issued a repair bulletin for this issue however also said that they do not believe the repairs dodge recommends fixes the problem. (the research i have done also supports that comment). on november 21 while traveling for thanksgiving i experienced the death wobble five times within an hour. i was traveling along interstate 10 at 65-75 mph and every bump, bridge approch slab, or pot hole that was hit would initiate this horrific shaking of the truck. i was in fear of mine and my passengers lives and in fear of damaging other components of the truck. i slowed down to 45-55mph and even slower when crossing road impairments stated above; this seemed to prevent the shaking. since, i have contacted my dodge dealer, the local dealer of where i'm spending the holiday, and chrysler's customer service. the two dealers again told me about dodge's bulletin however both said they do not believe replacing the tire rod ends and control arms will fix the problem. chrysler took two days to get a hold of a live person and then a customer service phone rep said that a case manager would contact me within 24 hours. however because of the holiday this puts them not contacting me before 8pm friday. i am traveling home sunday and fear further damaging the vehicle and putting my life in danger if i continue to drive the truck with this defect not being addressed and fixed immediately!

(2007 dodge 2500 6.7l cummins) (50,000 miles) at any speed in excess of 50mph a severe and violent shake is experienced when a bump/pothole/break in pavement is struck. this causes lose of control and does not correct until vehicle speed falls below 40 mph. i have owned vehicle only a month and have spent in excess of $1300. all tie rods, steering components have been replaced. tires, ball joints were inspected. vehicle has be aligned multiple times and problem remains. truck is currently at dealership 3rd time for same complaint. very thankful that i nor anyone else have been injured or killed. there are thousands of same complaints everywhere. what else can be replaced...?

My 2007 dodge ram 2500 wobbles when i hit a bump on the highway. it has happened many times and i took it for repairs. the truck was serviced and returned to me fixed. however, i am still having the same problem and am fearful of driving the vehicle.

My 2007 dodge ram 2500 passenger side tie rod end broke while driving down the road. the tie rod then went through the sidewall of the tire, flattening it and cocking the tire to the outside. making me lose control of the vehicle. dodge has a recall on the other end of the tie rod and was not willing to do anything about my situation. they offer an update kit that i had to pay for. in talking to my mechanic and local parts house mine is not the first situation of this kind. this is a very dangerous problem and is something that needs to be taken care of.

I own a 2007 dodge ram 2500 4wd quad cab long wheel base pickup truck. the steering on this vehicle is best decribed as ridiculous for the price you have to pay for the truck, not to mention how dangerous it is. my problems started before the truck even reached 20,000 miles. the dealership i purchased the truck from replaced the tie rod ends under warranty, and that helped for a few thousand miles, but didn't correct the problem. i attempted changing the tires and wheels for a set of aftermarket ones around 45-50k miles and that's when the death wobble started. i was traveling in the fast lane of a 3 lane interstate at around 70mph, and luckily was able to exit the interstate shortly after it started. i could not regain total control of the vehicle until it came to a complete stop! i'm just lucky it wasn't raining, or very crowded on the interstate at the time or i might not be here to write this complaint. i have replaced the factory steering stabilizer with an aftermarket rancho unit, but that didn't change a thing. i have researched the internet numerous times, but never see any real solutions, only aftermarket manufactuers attempting to sell their idea of a fix. this is a real issue that someone needs to force dodge to correct. i don't know if there are any deaths directly related to this problem, but rest assured there will be. i can't believe that it's been allowed to go on this long. i can't stand the thought of using this vehicle to transport my family, let alone my family losing me because of dodge's apathy towards this issue. i guess someone will have to videotape themselves crashing before the government steps in and makes dodge take notice, like they did to toyota.

I was driving to town (approx. 4 miles) when i hit 50 mph. the truck began to shake violently after hitting a minor irregularity in the road. i then slowed to approx. 30 mph to make it go away. though it has only happened to me twice i began looking on the internet and found a plethera of info on the notorious dodge death shake this problem is in every vehicle forum i have visited and cannot believe you have done nothing about it. all the stories are the same and most do not trust there vehicle anymore. there is a laundry list of fixes but there are conflicting results. dodge claims it is the front stabilizer, but i have changed it and after it happened again. i am very disappointed in the fact that i paid 30,000 for a truck i cannot trust. i would hope you do not continue to sit on your hands in this matter because it is plastered all over the internet and even a news story about it in north carolina. please, do something! i have been an automotive mechanic for over 20 years and this is a real problem. *tr

I purchased a used 2007 dodge ram 2500 4x4 5.9 liter diesel with 52,523 miles from a dealer on 1/18/10. the truck has no prior damage or repairs per carfax and the dealer info. i am experiencing front end harmonic wheel hop and shake at highway speeds of approx 50-70mph. this wheel shake occurs whenever the truck runs over an irregular road surface, pothole or bridge to road drop. i have researched on line forums and have read numerous complaints by other dodge truck owners which are experiencing this same condition known as a death wobble. i took the truck in to a dodge dealer who performed a dodge recall. they replaced the pitman arm and lower link as prescribed. unfortunately this did not repair the problem at all. the truck still has this condition and i have experienced an unsafe driving condition due to this front in harmonic steering fault. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 dodge ram 2500. while driving between 50 and 70 mph over a bump in the road, the front of the vehicle began vibrating excessively as if the vehicle was going to fall apart. the vibration also forced a vehicle driving next to the contact to switch lanes. this type of failure has been known as the death wobble. the dealer and the manufacturer advised the contact to have the front end aligned; however, after three alignments, the failure continued to occur. the failure mileage was 52,000.

I own a 2007 dodge 2500 mega cab and have now experienced the so called dodge death-wobble on 3 separate occasions in the last 2 months. traveling at highway speeds whether a smooth road or if i hit a small pothole the truck begins shaking violently and does not stop until speed is reduced significantly (under 30 mph). i have researched the issue via the web and have seen a news report of this happening to others with the newer models of the dodge ram series. i currently have the vehicle scheduled for inspection (2 dec 09) with the dealer for possible repairs but wanted to submit a complaint as i believe this is happening to many other motorists as reported by wsoc in charlotte nc. i only knew of contacting the nhtsa because of the news report i found. this reoccuring situation if not corrected is a safety issue which if not corrected is an extreme danger to all motorists on the road. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 dodge ram 2500 mega cab. when driving speeds higher than 55 mph the front-end of the vehicle would shimmy if he strikes a small bump or crack in the road. usually after brake application the wobbling stops. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the technicians could not identify the cause of the failure. the technician added that the death wobble was a consistent failure with his model type. the vehicle was taken to another dealer, and a temporary repair was made. the manufacturer was notified, but they would not confirm that the failure exists with this model type. the failure mileage was 12,000. the current mileage was 17,000.

I have a dodge 2007 2500 pickup 4x4 diesel 6.7. i have experienced a violent shaking when driving 55-70 mph and hitting a ridge or expansion joint on the road. i was told it was the tires after the first two times it happened, i replaced the tires and experienced it 3 more times before i could get it to the shop. after getting a rod replaced in the front end and the shop stating it was fixed, it happened again within the nest 150 miles. i began searching the internet for answers and came across the dodge death wobble and found this has been an ongoing problem for this truck for years. i really believed when this happened the first few times, i was about to wreck or worse, wreck someone else. the truck shakes so violently the driver has zero control. it must look pretty bad from other drivers views as they quickly stop and get out of the way. this should not be happening to a new truck and should be a recall and not make the buyer have to pay to have parts replaced as i have had to do. the truck is so bad i cannot allow it to be driven by my wife or anyone else for fear they could be killed. my wife worries every time i go to work as this has become a big source of stress in our lives. *tr

I have a 2007 dodge ram 2500. i am experiencing the infamous death wobble. when driving at normal speed for the road conditions the truck will violently shake after going over a bump. it has nearly caused me to wreck 3 times now. i live in a rural area of alaska so i have not been able to get to a shop yet. i contacted a dodge dealer in anchorage and they said that it is probably the stabilizer shock on the front end. i have read more about it online and am discovering that it's a severe issue. *tr

I am experiencing a problem with my steering on my 2007 2500 ram, i took it into a dealership for repair and found that the steering linkage is under recall. the problem i described to them is identical to that of the recall description. i have been told that the power steering pump is shot and i need to replace. this does not make sense since the vehicle only has 47000 miles and the description matches that of the recall. secondly, i was told that the parts aren't readily available and i would have to wait 2-3 weeks. i cannot turn this vehicle to the right at times and this could cause an accident or worse! *tr

The steering linkage on my 2007 dodge ram 2500 disconnected at the tierod end causing me to not have steering while traveling down the road. the truck was taken in and i was told there was a recall. i was then advised that the recall was suspended. the tierod end came apart due to mechanical defect. *tr

Going 50+ and hitting a bump in the road causes the truck to enter a death wobble that will not correct until the vehicle is stopped. violent shaking from the front end that can be felt through the steering and makes it feel like the door are going to fall off. *b

While traveling at interstate speeds (70+ mph), when vehicle encounters rough road conditions such as a sudden bump at the beginning and end of a bridge and/or rough spot in the road, vehicle begins shaking almost uncontrollably and will not cease until speed is reduced to below approximately 35 mph. braking is also affected during this episode of malfunction.
