Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. the contact stated that while driving 45 mph, he drove over a pot hole and the vehicle started shaking violently. the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the technician diagnosed that the upper and lower bolt joints were defective and needed to the replaced. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileage was 75,000.

This vehicle has an uncontrollable shaking with the front end. if you hit a bump ir a pothole you have to slow down until approximatelty 30-35 mph or possible stop to get the shaking to stop. it will vibrate anything off the dash. front end parts have been replaced, front end aligned, new tires, factory recall. i notified dodge, of course they know nothing about this.after researching this matter i found that several thousands of people have this problem and has been named the death wobble. any dodge from 2003-2008 has this. it is ridiculious that the dodge isnt held responsible for making an unsafe vehicle. this death wobble is still happening everyday when a bump is hit and is going to make someone wreck .

Death wobble, when driving at any speed, and hitting a bump with the wheel turned even ever so slightly either way, the wheel just gives that direction and the entire truck starts to go that direction. it is very nerve racking, and extremely dangerous. the forums are littered with people with the same issue looking for an answer, but we aren't coming up with one, all while throwing money away into parts that may or may not be bad. i've already had the tie rod failure that dodge has a recall on, but they say my truck was not effected by the recall, so that fell on me to replace. when i called dodge about the problem, they state that no one has reported this issue before so it is an isolated incident with my truck. however, a google search yields thousands of people with the same thing. can this be investigated in any way? these trucks have become dangerous to drive, or be around on the highways due to this 'death wobble'. *tr

I've got 40,000 miles on my 2008 2500 quad cab 6.7 cummins. the symptoms i noticed have been when driving down the road at highway speeds, suddenly it'll sound like i have a flat tire for about 2 seconds, then resume to normalcy. but when i slow to a stop, the truck shakes uncontrollably until you stop. it almost feels like i have a manual transmission, which i don't, and i don't downshift. i thought it was maybe a transmission problem, but i shifted to neutral and stopped, out of drive, and it still shook uncontrollably. my truck does have the snow plow prep package on it, but i do not run a snow plow, and after researching the possibility of that last winter, i would never put a plow on a quad/diesel; or for that matter, any ram.

My truck shakes violently when i hit imperfections in the road. it happens 3 or more times a week. i have to stop my truck to get the shaking to cease. i have had it to the dealer more than once for the problem. they could not replicate the problem the first two times. the third time i drove and the service man rode with me. they determined it was the tires that were causing the problem. they said tires were not covered in the warranty. so it looks like i get to fork over a grand for new tires. *tr

Death wobble on an 2008 dodge ram 2500 4x4 crew cab long bed. i thas recently happened six times and does not stop until the truck is almost to a stop. went into other lane once causing other drivers to avoid collision. just recently have had the truck over 65 mph. drove 75 mph on i -80 to co, and then to coast of ca. death wobble has happened at speeds of 30 mph to 70 mph. the front end wobbles slightly on small bumbs which puts you on edge thinking it will go into a violent wobble immediately at normal highway speeds, or below. there is no visible damage to any parts in the front end and alignment seems fine. no solution had yet been found.

I was driving my 2008 dodge ram 2500 (gas) coming into town and slowed down to approx. 50 mph and hit a small bump in the road. the truck began to shake violently and i thought the whole front end had fallen apart. luckily i was able to pull over without causing an accident. i checked over truck and could find nothing obviously wrong. took it to dodge dealer and they said they could find nothing wrong with truck and that they had never heard of this type of complaint. i now believe this to be a lie after reading so many other similar complaints. this problem will kill some one soon if dodge continues to ignore these complaints. my heart took about an hour to settle down i was so terrified.

When you run over a bump or seam in the road with the right front tire and then immediately after with the left front tire, the front of the truck starts bouncing uncontrollably until the speed of the truck is reduced drastically. this occurs with speeds between 55 and 80 mph. it occurs approximately once per month, you never know the next time it happens. the ball joints and steering box were rebuilt with new numbered parts and has not corrected the front suspension problem.

I have an 08 dodge 2500 4x4 diesel. when i go over 60mph and hit a bump it does that death wobble it does it every time i even hit an imperfection in the highway, i replaced the steering damper/stabilizer, and dodge replaced all 4 ball joints at only 34,000 miles. but it still does it, even worse at times.i haven't wrecked or anything i just have to slow down to about 40 mph to get it to stop. that is very dangerous when the speed limit is 75 mph. i drive all around the country for work, and this occurs every single time i drive it. the truck is only about 8 months old. i bought it brand new. *tr
