| Tl- the contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 3500 equipped with general ameritrac tires, size: 235/80/ r17 (n/a). the contact stated that the tires disintegrated. the manufacturer was notified and admitted that there was a defect with the tires but stated that because there was not a recall issued for the failure, they would provide no assistance. the failure mileage was not available. the vin was not available. kmj | |||

| Repeated failure of tire valve stems resulting in flat tires. dealer stated that the valve stems are not sufficient quality to run the stated tire pressure of 80 pounds. they suggested running lower pressure, 60 pounds, which is not safe when towing heavy loads or to purchase and install higher quality metal valve stems. luckily all failures have been on dually tires, however this could happen just as easily on the front tires resulting in a major accident. | |||
