Bought a 2005 dodge ram 1500 4x4 laramie quad cab used with 38000 mi. with new brakes & tires. at 42000mi a heavy vibration occurred, which turned out to be warped rotors. since it was just out of warranty, i replaced all rotors & brakes (i am maintenance in the army). then, at 51500mi the rotors warped again. i have read of many, many other owners with the same problem. i live a block from my job and don't drive very much. i also don't tow either, nor do i slam the brakes. i drive very slow & cautious, so there is no reason this should happen. this needs to be recalled & dodge needs to make good on their tough truck. *tr

Dt*: the contact stated while driving at 30mph, the vehicle was involved in a crash. the brake pedal was depressed; however the vehicle did not stop and hit another vehicle. the contact was wearing a safety restraint and received no injuries. there was considerable amount of damage to both vehicles involved. the vehicle was taken to the local dealership prior to the incident concerning brake problems. the dealer had previously replaced the rear axle, rear brakes, rear brake drum, rear brake pads, brake shoes, linings and also the rear spring. the dealer stated no additional repairs could be completed until the manufacturer released other tsb's. the police filed a report at the scene.

Truck was bought new with 42 miles and at 9k the brake rotors were replaced because of excessive wear. again at 14k miles the brakes needed to be replaced, but this time the dealer refused to pay. the rotors only had 5k miles and 3 months. i spoke with chrylser, the general manager of the dealership, and the service manager and they are telling me this is normal wear and tear. i told them this was unacceptable that rotors were wearing out so quickly. i have made 3 attempts to fix the problem and it is still not fixed. i am comtemplating the next step in the repair process. hopefully, the nhtsa can be of some assistance. *jb
