I have been watching the news recently and saw the jeep death wobble reports. i have the same experience and same problem with my 2006 dodge ram 2500. i almost got into two accidents on the high way and once my truck lost control due to the death wobble and turned 180 degrees on the highway facing oncoming traffic. but, luckily no one was hurt. i took the truck to see what the problem was and the mechanics said i have to pay a couple thousand to repair. however, the mechanic said he has seen many jeep and dodge have the same problem and said the company should have a recall because it is extremely dangerous and it is the manufactures fault. due to hard economic times i can not afford to fix my truck and i am very scared for my safety and my families. so please help me in this terrible situation along with other dodge ram and jeep owners. this is very common problem and can be seen all over the internet, youtube and the news. i look forward to hearing back from you and getting help. *tr

Tl-the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 2500 quadcab 4x4. while the contact was driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle began to wander out of lane without intent. in addition, there was excessive steering wheel play that caused difficultly when turning. the failure occurred whenever the vehicle was in operation. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer five times for the same failure and the steering gear was replaced twice. in july of 2010, the front end suspension was replaced and the tie rods were replaced at a different time. there was a recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 11v350000 (steering:linkages:tie rod assembly). the contact planned to notify the dealer to verify whether the vin was eligible under the recall. the manufacturer was informed of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 23,558. sm.

After hitting a bump in the road going 70 mph my truck began to shake so violently it ripped the steering wheel from my hand and uncontrollably changed several lanes on i-95 before coming to a stop. i have since had it happen 3 more times at lower speeds around 55-65 mph. i have contacted dodge with no help, i have read many accounts of others with the same problem dubbed the death wobble. i have so far changed tires, shocks, steering dampener, and tie rods. it still has the problem and is extremely dangerous i will not let anyone ride in it, this will absolutely get someone killed eventually. do not buy a dodge ram 2500

At 70-75 mph when hitting a bump in the road the front of the truck starts to violently shake and pulls you into the other lane or off the road, it does not quit until you come to a complete stop.

I own an operate a 2006 dodge ram 2500 diesel pick up truck; it has aproximately 52000 miles on it. many parts of the front end are worn out and need to be replaced. i have experienced what is referred to as death wobble where the front end of the truck shakes and vibrates violently and highway speeds after hitting bumps in the road. this condition causes an uncontrolled state of vehicle operation and is very un-safe. i have spent a lot of money replacing poorly designed front end components of this truck and there are still more that need replacement. it has bad track bar bushings, bad tie rod ends, bad ball joints, and had a bad steering box replaced under warrantee. dodge is aware of these problems and is turning their back on it by not issuing a recall. they have already changed the designs and updated the steering linkages on 2008 and newer dodge trucks. all of the components on the front end that are subject to wear are severely worn and only two tie rod ends have grease fittings. these happen to be the only two parts not worn out. i feel not having serviceable grease points on the parts is causing this premature wear along with the use of sub-standard parts, which are not designed to be used with a heavy duty diesel pick up trucks weight. these issues need to be brought to correction before someone is seriously hurt. i am lucky the times the truck has lost control in a shake that i didn't crash. please help, i feel with only 52000 miles on a 2006 truck that this catistrofic failure of a heavy duty front should not be happening. someone needs to step in and tell dodge they messed up.

Uncontrollable steering when hitting a bump or washboard above 40 mph (commonly known as death wobble) unresponsive steering. truck has been looked at by several mechanics, parts have been replaced and tires have been changed twice to other brands. truck still does this on occasion?currently many 03-09 2500 and 3500 trucks are having this issue? many of which were never fixed and are now out of warranty. this is very dangerous at highway speeds and i would be surprised if there weren't already many accidents due to this problem that has been going on for years? *tr

Tie-rod end broke suddenly. mine broke during a turn from a us highway to a county road so that i was moving slowly. immediate loss of steering was the result. recall has been issued on one set of replacement parts but not on the original equipment parts that have also failed at least as often. *tr

I own a 2006 dodge 1 ton crew cab truck. during the month of december i started to experience wheel bouncing when a hit a bump at speeds over 60 miles per hour. i contact the local dodge dealer, they look at it and said nothing was wrong. on december 20, 2006 i hit a bump on the interstate at nearly 70 miles per hour that put my truck into an uncontrollable shake, nearly hit the car next to me and slide sideways to a stop. very lucky that others were not hit or that i did not roll. i had the truck towed to springfield, mo and took it to central dodge. they immediately said it was the front steering stabilizer shock and that they have had numerous other incidents involving this part without even looking at the truck. they change the part and the problem is fixed, but something was troubling as the tech said he would replace it with something stiffer and stronger as they can only replace it with a factory part that he said has been a problem and is not big enough. *nm
