| Defect Summary | Import products is recalling 30,351 fuel filters sold to and branded by the affinia group as carquest p/n 86523, napa p/n 3523, and wix p/n 33523 for use as replacement equipment on the vehicles listed above. these filters may develop a leak in the hose assembly and/or connectors due to improperly adhered line connectors. | |||||||||||||||

| Tl*the contact owns a 1999 dodge stratus. the aftermarket floormats rise underneath the brake pedal and catch onto the steering column. while driving between 2-5 mph, the steering wheel locked due to the floormat and the contact could not turn the wheel. the vehicle crashed into his other parked vehicle. the front bumper was damaged. the vehicle was not inspected by a dealer. the contact feels that the vehicle should have a hook installed to prevent the floormat from moving. he did not have any product information regarding the floormats. the failure mileage was 100,000 and current mileage was 160,000. updated 03-04-08 *bf | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 1999 dodge stratus. when it rains, the instrument panel gauges, windshield wipers, and air conditioner become inoperable. the contact stated that the vehicle was a lemon because it has been included in two recalls and the windows did not work at the time of purchase. the contact believes that chrysler should repair the vehicle since the failures have been occurring since the day it was purchased. the vin and failure mileage were unknown. the current mileage was 5,000. | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 1999 dodge stratus. the contact stated that the power steering failed. the vehicle began smoking underneath the hood , and the mechanic replaced the power steering pump and hose. also, the contact stated that the transmission failed and caused the indicators on the instrument panel to malfunction. this failure prevented her from determining how fast she was driving. in addition, the gears failed to shift from second gear. the mechanic stated that a sensor in the transmission and the air conditioning system failed. also, the cooling system failed, and the water pump and timing belt were replaced twice. the failure began when the vehicle ran hot. she will collect the work reports and receipts from the dealer regarding the other failures that occurred. the current mileage is 105,000, and failure mileage was 79,000.*ak | |||
