Dodge stratus engine die out due to crankshaft position sensor that came in contact w/ a protective shield, which consequently caused a grouted circuit. thereby causing my engine to die out. my vehicle is a lease, and the warranty is up, and i never received any recall information. recall info on this call, and the prior year are numerous deadly one. those which can possibly cause injury, or death. i was almost a statistic today when my vehicle died out completely in an exit ramp off the highway. please help me find out how responsible the dealership is because i never received any!!!! recall letters. i received their bill, but yet no recall info. this vehicle is only three years old. i have prior to this vehicle purchased three other vehicles from yonkers avenue dodge, and have traded them in for new ones, but they too had problems, and the dealer never gave me any breaks in price. they just saw a female walk in, and read the sucker sign on my forehead. anyhow my car is now stuck in a shell gas station, which was consequently off the ramp i was stuck on. i was pushed there to get me out of harms way. i will not allow this dealer to continue to stick people, or chrysler to stick people with the bill to a car that dies out before the lease is up!! if you can help please email me. as well as let other dodge stratus se owners know that the numerous problems these cars suffer from before these owners get killed, or kill others. thank you for your attention to this matter. respectfully, ms. vivian pena. *cb

I purchased a used 2001 dodge stratus in february 2003. the car had a total of 48702 miles. within the first week, the car was taken back to the dealer for brake problems. the front brakes was missing some type of brakes clips. this was repaired by the dealership. their was also a noise from the steering column. the dealership stated that their was no problem located and that it was just the tires rubbing the pavement when turning. within 85 days, the car lost speed while driving and would not move. it took one hour to coast 2.5 miles to home. i later had the car towed to the dealership. they called the next day to tell us that we need a complete overhaul of the transmission and needed to replace the pump and converter. a cost of $2000. i have never had any problems with any other brand of used cars even with high mileage. this car was driven less than 90 days. the dealership said that had the car malfunction with the first 60 days, then they would have repair it. the car has 55225 miles as of today's date. this is a major repair that is well documented as a problem with dodge/chrysler vehicle. we called the chrysler consumer services hotline and was told that we had to work something out with the dealership as to the repairs. the dealership is currently working with us to resolve this problem at our expense. we are not agreeing to this arrangement and is waiting for higher management to intervene.. *nlm

Consumer states that the front rotors are wearing excessively. dealer informed that the rotors had to be turned, but the brake pads were adequate. *mr the consumer states that the rotors should not be warped at at 15000 miles and still have padding, the vehicle shakes badly when applying brakes, they were refaced yet there was still a slight pulsation in the rear, the consumer feels that the rotors are of poor quality. *scc
