Defect SummaryThe front suspension lower control arm tension strut washers can crack and fall off due to hydrogen embrittlement.
Consequence SummaryLoss of a washer will cause a clunking sound, heardduring braking. if left unattended, the loss of the washer will eventuallyresult in tension strut attachment failure that can result in loss of steeringcontrol and an accident.
Corrective SummaryReplace the front and rear strut bar washers and nuts.

Defect SummaryVehicle description: passenger vehicles. the lower control arm attaching brackets can crack due to fatigue and separate from the engine cradle.
Consequence SummaryIf this occurs, the transmission half-shaft could pull out of the transaxle and result in loss of power.
Corrective SummaryDealers will reinforce the engine cradle at the point where the lower control arm attaches to it.

 Dt: consumer owns a 1993 eagle vision. consumer received recall 99v215000 about a year ago concerning lower control arm. he took vehicle to dealer to get repairs done . dealer did not do anything to vehicle and charged him $1020 for repairs. he took vehicle to another dealer on august 3, 2005 because it started shaking again. they did not do any repairs. he contacted the manufacturer, and was told to take vehicle back to dealer. *ak *jb

 When driving front right wheel will wander from the direction taken. this is due to the lower control arm separating from the engine cradle. dealer has not seen vehicle. *ak

 Front brakes squeak and grind due to the design. this is the third replacement. *ak consumer stats front brakes were replaced by dealer under warranty, at about 20,000 miles they started squealing and pulsating when applied dealer would not repair, so consumer took vehicle to a local mechanic, at about 5,000 miles later they started squealing again, local mechanic replaced them but the brakes continued to squeal and also vibrate under frim pressure, consumer also experienced electrical problems , the heater.defroster shorted out, the power window switch for the driver's side window was replaced once and has shorted out again, the a/c condensor fan has shorted out, and also had to replace a vacuum valve int he a/c there is a ad rattle in the front stabilizer bars.*jb
