Defect SummaryFairplay is recalling certain model year 2010 and 2011 eve lsv electric low speed vehicles manufactured from july 31, 2009, through december 27, 2010. a fuse specified to be in the 12v accessory circuit was not built into the wiring harness. the fuse value on the input to the voltage reducer was too large to prevent possible damage. there was no fuse inserted in the 12 volt circuit.
Consequence SummaryWithout this fuse for protection, a short in any portion of the 12v wiring can melt wire insulation and pose the risk of a fire.
Corrective SummaryFairplay will notify owners and dealers will repair the vehicles free of charge. the safety recall began on february 22, 2011. owners may contact fairplay at 1-866-557-0342.

STEERING
07/14/20122501
I was driving home from a nearby neighbors house when suddenly the steering stopped working. i was able to stop safely while on a gentle curve/down slope. after stopping, i look underneath at the steering and found that the steering knuckle? was missing and i thought may have broken off. a few feet behind the vehicle, i found the steering knuckle and boot protector. my inspection look like the steering knuckle is intact and just came loose, falling off, causing the steering to fail. i dread what may have happened if i were going faster downhill on a curve. i live in the mountains where all the roads are narrow with curves and a lot of up hill and down hill areas. i will clean the knuckle in the morning and try and reattach it. however, after this experience, i do not know if i can trust the vehicle any more. *tr
