Defect SummaryCertain motor homes and travel trailers equipped with a two-door refrigerator, manufactured by the dometic corporation, may have a defect in the boiler tube. pressurized coolant solution could be released into an area where an ignition source (gas flame) is present.
Consequence SummaryRelease of coolant under certain conditions could ignite and result in a fire.
Corrective SummaryFleetwood will be working with dometic in order to repair these refrigerators (please see 06e076). dometic will repair these refrigerators by installing a secondary burn housing, a thermal fuse, and a melt fuse free of charge. dometic has retained stericycle inc. to manage this campaign. stericycle will assist you in locating dealerships or service centers and will provide assistance with scheduling of appointments. owners may contact dometic/stericycle at 1-888-446-5157 or fleetwood at 1-800-322-8216.

Defect SummaryFleetwood is recalling certain class a gas and diesel motor homes, class c motor homes, conventional and fifth wheel travel trailers equipped with norcold refrigerators. a low cycle fatigue failure in the section of the cooling unit which generates the refrigerant could allow the liquid solution to slowly leak.
Consequence SummaryExtended operation of a leaking cooling unit could lead to a fire from gas which might escape.
Corrective SummaryFleetwood is working with norcold to repair these refrigerators. norcold will provide thermal switch kits to owners along with the necessary forms and instructions. the recall is expected to begin during june 2008. owners may contact norcold at 1-800-767-9101 or fleetwood at 1-800-509-3418.

 While driving, vehicle experienced complete engine shutdown, the oil pressure, stop engine, and trouble with engine lights illuminated, dealer stated that water had been taken into the plug in the electrical compartment, they sprayed it with wd40 and stated it was fixed, the problem occurred again and this time stated there was an oil pressure sensor problem, there is only a temporary fix to this problem and that is to place a small cap, shorting plug/calibration, taking the place of the oil pressure sensor and this will send 52psi above all fault codes at all times, dealer can not state when a permanent fix will be produced, dealer has attempted to fix this problem six times without success. *slc

 Engine overheated and a loss of power occurred. fuel accumulator was replaced after first incident. *ak 2 front goodyear tires replaced and alignment was complete to try and correct jerking and steering problem. vehicle overheats, dealer has attempted to fix this problem, however have had no success, there was an oil leak due to a leaking gasket. ecm was adjusted wrong causing low power, vehicle would not start due to a faulty fuel pump assembly, dealer installed new pressure sensor in the accumulator, fuel leak, dealer found accumulater leaking fuel at the back on one of the plugs, dealer replaced fuel pump. power steering failed, dealer has attempted to repair this 8 times with no success, dealer found metal particles in power steering reservoir, lines, and manifold, metal lodged in pump body, dealer replaced power steering pump, manifold, oil coolers, steering box, filters, fan motors, and steering gear, problem still occurs. *slc

 Tl- the contact owns a 2000 fleetwood american tradition. the contact stated that after purchasing the rv used he noticed the ball joints on the chassis had failed and grease was leaking out. the manufacturer was contacted and the ball joints were replaced and the manufacturer covered the labor charges. the ball joints have failed again with only 11,000 miles on them. . the manufacturer stated that they will send the owner the ball joints at no charge but he will have to pay the labor to have them replaced. the owner is currently in communication with spartan, the chassis manufacturer, about the labor charges. the owner feels like a recall should be ordered. he also stated that he has numerous friends with the same chassis that have had the same problem. the failure mileage is approximately 67,000. rd
