| Defect Summary | On certain motor homes built on workhorse chassis and equipped with general motors 8.1l v8 engines, improper hardening during the heat treatment process can cause the fuel rail pulse damper retainer clip to fracture, resulting in inadequate retention of the damper. if the damper becomes loose, fuel could be pumped by the fuel pump into the under hood area. | |||||||||||||||

| Defect Summary | Fleetwood is recalling 509 my 2001-2008 class a motor homes equipped with axles that include bosch zops or zoht pin slide hydraulic disc brakes. when combined with occasional or seasonal vehicle operation may experience calipers sticking in the applied position. this can result in abnormal heat generation at the wheel end causing brake drag. the driver would normally have warning of the brake drag if undetected by the driver. | |||||||||||||||
| Consequence Summary | The driver would normally detect the brake drag but if undetected the temperature increase at the wheel end can eventually lead to soft pedal conditions due to brake fluid boil, and possible extended stopping distance increasing the risk of a crash. | |||||||||||||||

| Took the motor home for repair of the frame due to the floor sagging on 11/2006. at the time they welded the frame to support the floor. then , there was a rear axle noise ,and i took it in to get repaired under warranty on 6/2007. they informed at me that time that the frame had been extended. they told me to contact the rv dealer to have them check it. on 7/5/2007 i received a phone call from themford dealers service manager saying that he received a bill from ford motor company for the axle repair, also, telling me that they were not responsible due to the alteration of the frame. they told me the repairs cost over $4,000.00. i called ford motor company, and they told me when they sold the frame to rv manufacturers. they were informed that any modifications done to the frames or chassis voided the warranty. i was aware because of the statement that ford motor company told me that i no longer had a warranty on this coach. i have contacted the dealer and ford motor company not fleetwood at this time, and i was waiting for a reply. so here i am, help! help, any help you could give me wouild be greatly appreciated. *ak | |||

| Tl-the contact owns a 2006 fleetwood flair. while driving 45 miles per hour, the contact applied the brake and the brake would not engage. the contact received a recall notice for recall 50901-c, workhorse chassis. the contact spoke with the dealer who advised the brakes were not bad enough to be repaired. the cost for the repair was $1,000. the cylinders were lubricated by the dealer. the current and failure miles were 13000. aa | |||

| Tl-the contact owns a 2006 fleet wood flair motor home. the contact stated while driving 10 mph and entering an intersection the welds between the hitch receiver box and the frame came a part. the motor home was towing his other vehicle and when it failed it causes the vehicle to roll across the road. the vehicle was damaged but no one was injured. the motor home was driven home and the insurance company was contacted. the manufacturer was contacted but they are out of business and he would have to contact the contractor that welded the hitches. the contact stated he does not know who that would be. the failure mileage was 7,000. mw | |||
