Defect SummaryCertain motor homes and travel trailers equipped with a two-door refrigerator, manufactured by the dometic corporation, may have a defect in the boiler tube. pressurized coolant solution could be released into an area where an ignition source (gas flame) is present.
Consequence SummaryRelease of coolant under certain conditions could ignite and result in a fire.
Corrective SummaryFleetwood will be working with dometic in order to repair these refrigerators (please see 06e076). dometic will repair these refrigerators by installing a secondary burn housing, a thermal fuse, and a melt fuse free of charge. dometic has retained stericycle inc. to manage this campaign. stericycle will assist you in locating dealerships or service centers and will provide assistance with scheduling of appointments. owners may contact dometic/stericycle at 1-888-446-5157 or fleetwood at 1-800-322-8216.

I own a 1999 fleetwood pace arrow on 01/30/2001 i again returned the motor home to the dealership to again fix the co detector going off problem. the pace arrow has been return to the dealership on several previous occasions to address the carbon momixiode problem. each time the motor home had to be resealed. on several occasions when the generator had been running , the co detector would go off . the generator would be turned off and windows and doors were opened. the co detector would stop . in the lastest round of repairs. the fleetwood factory rep said to install a battery powered alarm, because it is less sensitive and they have to many problems with the hard wired alarms. the factory rep. also referenced the owners manuel, where it states that you should not sleep in the motor home while any engines are running. the problem is not the running of the generator while you sleep. the problem is running the generator at any time and having carbon monixiode entering into the interior of the self /fully contained motor home.
Carbon monoxide detector went off. consumer took vehicle back to dealer. they claimed no problem found. about 2-3 weeks later, consumer was running generator in vehicle at a campsite that had lost electricity. when consumer's son went into vehicle and fell asleep for 2 hours, consumer heard a noise. went into vehicle, and noticed carbon monoxide detector went off again, and found his son unconscious. consumer then took vehicle to fire department ,where they did a test with generator, and within 15 minutes carbon monoxide hit a very dangerous level. vehicle was sent back to plant ,there they replaced complete left side from front to back of vehicle. but did not indicate where the cardon monoxide leak was coming from. *ak
