Defect SummaryFleetwood rv is recalling certain model year 2011 bounder classic, storm and terra class a motor homes built on ford chassis and manufactured from may 21, 2010, through february 11, 2011. certain model year 2011 bounder and southwind class a motor homes built on ford chassis and manufactured from may 24, 2010 through may 18, 2011; and certain model year 2012 bounder and southwind class a motor homes built on ford chassis and manufactured from may 16, 2011 through june 15, 2011. a wire harness that is routed under the motor home, near the chassis rail, can contact a heat shield located next to the passenger side engine exhaust manifold. the close proximity can cause the harness to melt or be otherwise damaged.
Consequence SummaryA damaged wire harness can result in an electrical short, result in intermittent operation of electrical systems vehicle shut down, and/or lead to a fire, and may result in loss of vehicle control, injury, or death.

Consequence SummaryIncorrect positioning of the high and low-beams on headlights could result in glare to oncoming drivers and/or reduced visibility of the motor home increasing the risk of a crash with the motor home.

 Tl-the contact owns a 2011 fleetwood terra motor home. while driving 60 mph in rainy weather conditions he turned the windshield wipers on and the top of the blade blocked his vision as they go back and forth. the contact stated he can not adjust the seat he had to lower his head to see the road. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the failure. he stated the dealer advised him that there was nothing they could do because they were design that way. he called the manufacturer and he was advised that the wipers met federal requirements. the failure mileage was 900 and the current mileage was 3,937. vwb
