ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING - EXHAUST SYSTEM
05/15/200930001
We were driving our rv and smelled burning plastic, we stopped and the smell seemed to go away. we went on and later stopped and looked in our compartment, the exhaust pipe had burned a hole in the bottom of the compartment and burned through the bottom of the plastic container, luckily it did not burn into the four bottles of butane in our compartment, we would have died. we are trying to contact the dealer for correction. the warranty is up so the nearby places will not handle it. it is a 2007 tioga made by fleetwood. this seems to be a manufacture defect, since we have less than 3000 miles on it and haven't done anything to it. after this we emptied the compartment and put a metal plate in it ourselves, trying to get some assistance from fleetwood. *tr
STRUCTURE - BODY

On november 24, 2007 we sent a six page letter to fleetwood and dan gamel's camp america for selling us an unsafe rv. the body of the rv was not properly attached to the frame. we purchased the rv on october 14, 2006. it was always difficult to handle. we requested dan gamel to check it numerous times. finally, they sent us to a frame shop. the rv had less than 4000 miles on it. it required new rear springs, repair to the plate, u-bolt, center bolt, clip alignment cam 1/2 degree, body plugs and an alignment. they did not honor their warranty. the repair shop said that the condition is not unusual once the rv starts to settle. the damage could have been minimized if the body would have been properly secured at the pre-delivery inspection. there may be other rvs on the road in the same condition, that are hard to control due to the loose body on the frame. we are novices to camping. we were told it was a learning curve. we are both aviation mechanics and we clearly could see that the rv was unsafe. request that a required inspection be accomplished at the pre-delivery inspection of all rvs to assure proper assembly. *tr
