 This appears to be a design defect. the catalytic converter is melting the radius arm bushings. ford has had similar problems with ford explorer and probably f150. if you talk to the parts folks this is a commen problem. i have written and called ford several times about this. the radius arm bushings help hold the front axle in place, when they melt it causes the vehicle to steer and brake dangerously.
