| Dt*: the contact stated while at a stop, the gearshift was shifted into drive and the vehicle accelerated out of control, bounced over a high curb, and was fishtailing. the contact estimated the speed to have reached 70 mph before the ignition was turned off. the vehicle was towed to the service dealer, who determined that the throttle pedal had seized. the manufacturer was notified. updated 12/5/2006 - *nm | |||

| I started my car, put it in drive, and the car accelerated at a high rate of speed. the car would not respond to the application of the brake, it wouldn't stop! i hit a parked car. i put the car in re- verse, put the car in park, went to get out of the car and it again accelerated into another parked vehicle. my car couldn't be stopped by applying the brake. can a car go forward while in park? i have never had a problem with my car until this incident. i'm only guessing at the cost of the damage. it could be a lot less. i'm happy there were no pedestrians around at the time! | |||
