Traveling on pa turnpike, vehicle stopped moving. called for tow to nearest ford garage (haggerstown, md ford) for repair. when vehicle was placed on lift rear tire fell off. the axel had broke at the tire. vehicle had 100,048 miles. vehicle has no rust or body issues. vehicle is in very good shape. i feel this is a manufacture defect. i feel this could have caused a serious accident with injuries sustained.

The rear axle went out on the passenger side approximately 8 months or so before the driver side rear axle started going. there have been recalls for this same thing on the same make, year and model as my car. we replaced the passenger rear axle and are now facing having to replace the driver's side.

Lighting control module (lcm) failure exactly as described by others reporting the same problem. the lcm had to be replaced and the second one failed as well and is currently being replaced. this is an expensive part and causes a very dangerous situation as it happens intermittently until it completely fails. it should be noted that the a/c fan operation is also tied to the same relay that fails in the lcm. ford claims there's been no recall on this failure. my cv is the sport lx and had under 46000 miles when it happened the first time and less than 48000 the second time. our other cv of the same year is the digital model cv.
