 Vehicle experienced problem with grill coming off while driving apprx. 70 mph and hitting front windshield, almost causing a vehicle collision. this condition was due to a faulty attachment as a result of a manufacturer's defect. dealer notified and informed consumer that vehicle was out of warranty, and nothing would be done unless cost goes to consumer. seeking help from nhtsa in this matter. *ak

 Tl*the contact owns a 1994 ford econoline. the contact stated that the bolts that hold the bumper in place have rusted and caused the front bumper to fall off. the contact called the manufacturer regarding the failure and because the vehicle was out of warranty the contact would be responsible for the repairs. the contact stated that if he was driving the failure could have caused a crash. the failure mileage was 170,000.

 While driving the van a cracking noise is heard coming from the front end when making a right or left turn. when owner took van to be checked, a mechanic found that the frame has two large cracks under the gear box. owner will have the van repaired. *ak

 My problem isn't a safety problem but i feel that with only 34,000 miles the paint should not be peeling back on the roof! i was hoping to find out if this problem has been reported. i was told by another paint shop that it is a primer problem that ford has....can you help me find out? thank you! lori
