| Tl-the contact owns a 2008 ford edge. the contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle suddenly jerked and all the warning lights illuminated. the vehicle was able to be driven to the dealer who stated that the computer system needed to be reset. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was notified and a complaint was filed. the failure mileage was 41,800. mah | |||

| Vehicle was taken to power ford in valencia for standard service a week ago. 41,000 miles new tires bought- was told all was ok. one week later i am driving when suddenly speedometer stops and milegage is reading --- grinding nois then a wrench icon aoppears which means the powertrain is malfunctiong, then the air bag light went on and then an ! icon which means there is a problem with tires. terrified, i called power ford and told ot bring it in... i was less than a half a mile away, and put on my hazard lights and barely made it th e few clocks to the dealership. this si a haunting problem that i have read at least a dozen comments about the power train. had i been ion teh freeway i dont think i would be alive. please investigate this issue with the ford edge. i di not know the outcome at all.thank you | |||

| Drving on freeway at 55mph, started up hill,motor had died. was able to restart, but had less power. once rpm's were above 2,000 would do reg. speed. got worse,left on road, later same day husband drove home, no problems. same problem more often. dealer changed sensor,as they were unsure of problem. over $600.00. has started doing same thing again. ## vin failed ## | |||

| It happened when i came off the highway onto the side road, there was a loud clunk in the rear of the vehicle and i lost power to drive, and when i pressed the gas it would only go 30 miles of speed. i went into a parking lot, turned the motor off and let it sit for 10 min. i restarted it and it seemed fine. but now on a regular basis it will clunk in the rear like i have been hit and then clear up and drive good. i have had it checked many times by ford and other places but no one can find anything wrong with the drive train. i notice on ford forum that many people are having the same problem. there should be a recall for this vehicle by ford to cover all ford edges from 2008 to 2010 and have the drive trains replaced, even if they can not find any problems. or find out what is really happening to this vehicle and have them all recalled to fix the problem. *tr | |||

| I own a 2008 ford edge. i have had it for just over 30 days and have had problems with it since the week that i purchased it. i have had it to the dealership several times and they are telling me that since there are no codes reading out and no light on and that they cant replicate the problem that they dont know what to do. i am supposed to monitor and call back with worse symptoms. i called them in thursday because i was on my way to work and my car skipped the whole way up a hill on the highway and when i got to the top of it my car completely powered down and shut off with the key still in the ignition and in the in position. i had to get off the road very quickly to avoid being hit by a 18 wheeler. i am happy that my child was not in the car but i am now scared for my family and my safety as well as others. severely unhappy with this vehicle!!!!! | |||

| Foul odor in cabin after stopping vehicle. smells like burning oil or other fluids. internet search reveals possible manufacturer defect related to leaking ptu in awd vehicles causing fluid to leak on to exhaust piping resulting in this odor. the smell is very nauseous and prolongs exposure could make passengers feel ill and safety concerns with breathing in these fumes is questioned. *tr | |||

| Ongoing transmission issues since purchased new. been to repair for more than 17 days and issues still remain unresolved. took car in for regular scheduled oil changes and repairs.at approximately 30,000 miles the camphasers ( ford admitted wrong camphasers had been installed) were replaced. coolant problem discovered as well when vehicle engine was removed. odd odor coming from heater, when vehicle returned after camphaser and collant issue did not resolve situation, and vehicle returned to galpin ford service, was told that axle and bearing were broken and that the stering wheel was not in proper position. i am deeply concerned for other ford edge owners as well as members of the public who may be affected by vehicle that does not properly engage and appears to stall before moving forward.... this is an enormously serious issue, that should not be ignored. reading the prior complaints, tells me this is not a new problem, and that consumers and ford are aware of the transmissions issues. please assist. | |||

| I began to notice a white dust blowing from my vents when i turned the air conditioner on about a month ago. i had an independent repair shop as well as a ford dealership look at this and they both agreed that it was flux that was coming off of the evaporator. i was told by the independent repair shop that this was toxic and that it needed repaired immediately. the dealership said this was a known defect but that i would have to pay for it because the vehicle is no longer under warranty. | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 2008 ford edge. she stated that while driving at speeds of 75 mph, the vehicle stalled. all instrument panel lights illuminated on the warning panel. she was able to coast off of the highway and contacted the dealer. the dealer could not duplicate the failure. the vehicle stalled three additional times, each time the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the failure could not be duplicated. the dealer advised installing an event data recorder (edr or black box) in order to pin point the exact reason for the failure and also replaced the starter, under warranty, in hopes it would correct the failure. the contact was concerned with her safety and the possibility of a crash. the vehicle was in possession of the dealer. the failure and current mileages were under 19,500. | |||
