 Tl-the contact owns a 2001 ford escape. the contact stated that while sitting at a traffic stop, another vehicle crashed into the rear of the vehicle. upon impact, the front driver and passenger seats fractured and fell backward abnormally. the police were contacted and a police report was filed. the driver and a passenger were injured. the passenger sustained a concussion and a brain injury. a rear child passenger sustained injuries to the leg from the seat falling backward. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where they deemed the vehicle as destroyed. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was unknown. kmj

 Tl-the contact owns a 2001 ford escape. the contact stated that when waiting at a stop sign she was hit in rear end. upon impact the driver and passenger side seats had fractured and fell backwards. the police were contacted and a report was available. the driver received injuries and the front passenger received a concussion and brain injury. the minor child that was in the rear also received injuries to his legs from the seat falling backwards. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and they deemed the vehicle destroyed. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was unknown. tb

 Car seats broke on impact - remained in reclined position rendering the car impossible to drive. head, neck, and back injuries by 2 passengers. one passenger factured c1 vertibra. seats were so flattened that significant injuries would of been sustained by anyone in the back seats. still waiting to hear from ford motor company. complaint filed 6/28/01.

 Tl* - the contact was stopped he stopped at a light, another vehicle hit him in the rear. the second vehicle was traveling at approximately 40 mph. the airbag did not deploy, but the crash resulted in the drivers seat unexpectedly reclining to a horizontal position, the contact was able to adjust the seat after the impact. the passenger seat remained in position. the driver suffered injuries. *nm the consumer stated he lost control of the steering. updated 02/22/07. *jb

 Dt: the contact stated the cable for the air bag under the driver's seat was cut when the seat was adjusted. an independent mechanic determined the problem after it was misdiagnosed by the dealer. the manufacturer offered no free remedy. a repair was made at the contact's expense, but the problem recurred. *ak

 The rear seats do not hold properly when in the sitting position, the locking mechanism provided is not adequate to hold the seat down, consumer believes seat is poorly designed. nlm
