Defect SummaryMarathon is recalling certain seat covers, brand superhides with part numbers 593, 594, 578, 960, 228, 228-09, 267-08, 333, 625, and 630, sold for use as aftermarket equipment for various passenger vehicles. these seat covers are made of heavier thread and are not compatible with seats containing side airbags. the heavier seat cover could interfere with full deployment of the airbag in the event of a crash.
Consequence SummaryAn improperly deployed airbag could result in serious injury.
Corrective SummaryMarathon will notify owners of record and replace the seat cover free of charge. the safety recall began on september 14, 2010. owners may contact marathon at 1-800-735-2769.

 Tl*the contact owns a 2008 ford escape. the contact stated that he could see the clamps when he inspected the brake reservoir. he believes that the clamps were designed to fail. the vehicle has not been inspected by the dealer. there had been no failure to date. the current mileage was 4,000.

 My daughter was on her way to school when entering a curve in the road her steering locked up she then went off the road an struck a culvert went airborn and when coming down started rolling she was thrown out of the car even though she had her seatbelt on as the police report stated she spent 5 days in the icu with her back broken in 3 places she just turned 17 she has aleast 2 months before maybe she will be back to normal we will have to home school her for the rest of the year. i will be contacting a lawyer and ford motor company and as i have read ford is at fault whether they abmit it or not.

 Tl*the contact owns a 2008 ford escape. whenever the contact attempted to accelerate at any speed, she noticed that the vehicle would jerk and jump between gears. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that the air conditioning condenser hose was causing the transmission fluid to leak. prior to the failure, the contact noticed transmission fluid leaking on her driveway whenever the vehicle was parked. the current mileage was 50,000 and failure mileage was 42,000.
