| Tl- the contact owns a 2008 ford escape. while driving at any speed, the contact noticed that when he applied pressure to the gas pedal it remained stuck. the dealer was advised who was aware of the problem and reccomended that the fuel system be cleaned once every 20,000 miles. the contact did not inform the manufacture. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, where they flushed the fuel system. the current mileage was approximately 80,000. the failure mileage was approximately 40,000. the vin was unavailable. bw | |||

| My wife was driving our 2008 ford escape xlt when the accelerator became hard to press. she attempted to vary the amount of pressure on the accelerator but it was still hard to press. she then pressed harder on the accelerator and it dropped to the fire wall and did not return to its normal position. she was able to safely pull off of the highway without incident. i came out to the location where she was, i got into the car and i had to use the tip of my shoe several times to pull the accelerator up before it would stay in its normal position. i was able to get the accelerator to work normally after this. this particular problem has occurred one other time while driving. however, a similar problem to this occurrs several times while driving. when the accelerator becomes hard to press i tap on the accelerator (before applying normal press) and i am able to accelerate normally. | |||

| My 2008 escape has been to dealer for repair for major issues. 1) i had a problem with the steering wheel 2) i had a problem with the gas pedal getting stuck, 3) i had a problem with the leak of transmission fluid i thank god that the this happen to the car while its under warranty, so the dealer replace the parts for free. i just cant understand with so many complaints with all the same problems the government has not done anything about it. so many unhappy customers has to spend extra money in hard times to get there car repair. i called ford and they just told me that they will noted in my account. what will that do for me nothing! *tr | |||

| Saturday night october 11th. vehicle was driven to a shopping center very close to my home and upon coming out of the store the accelerator (or pedal) fell to the floor. aaa was called and they were able to temporary repair to the pedal, we drove the vehicle back to our home and we did not use the vehicle until we took it to the ford dealership, and after analyze it, it was found that it was a defective cable assembly and a part had to be ordered and is at the ford dealership will be repair tomorrow. this is severe and safety situation if we were on the road at the moment that happened it could have resulted in a dead or very serious injuries to us and others. *tr | |||

| I purchased new 2008 escape on 8/27/2007 and on 9/01/2007, the line leading to the accelarator, according to ford popped off. i asked them for another car to no avail. i thank god that i was in the grocery store parking lot and not driving with my two young children. here's ford's response via email: dear audrey, thank you for contacting the ford motor company customer relationship center regarding your 2008 ford escape xls. our records indicate that you contacted the ford customer relationship center on 9/5/2007 11:07:04 am, and our customer care representative advised you that diagnosis accelerator cable popped off is having service manager james j________ double check to make sure everything is working properly. after that the vehicle will be ready. at this time we are unable to provide you with an alternate response. if any additional information regarding this matter should become available in the future, please let us know. if you have any other inquiries, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to address them for you. sincerely, john customer relationship center ford motor company | |||

| Sloshing sound of fuel from rear end while making turns, braking or accelerating. in most cases makes sound more than a half full. car has a harder time making turns. went to the dealership three times to complain and have vehicle inspected, on the third visit inspected and road tested. no work done to fix problem, dealership contact ford hotline. *tr | |||

| My throttle body is sticking every morning. i have been stuck in traffic on i-5 in tacoma and had to use all my strength to depress the throttle which lurched my daughter and i into oncoming traffic and nearly caused a fatal accident. it has caused my children to be late for school, myself late for work and alot of stress and fuel. i have to keep the throttle depressed while stopping and have to use my right foot for the break. i drive an automatic. the dealership knows that the 2008 ford escapes are having this problem and are doing nothing to help resolve the issues. when i call to ask about the issue i get treated very poorly. i am one of thousands of people having this problem and ford needs to address it. | |||

| Gas pedal intermittently would not go down, sometimes in heavy traffic. finally the pedal stuck so much that i took it in for repair and they replaced the throttle. this is very dangerous to not be able to accelerate when in heavy highway traffic. i noticed that other escape owners have documented the same problem. | |||
