 Tl-the contact owns a 2000 ford expedition. while operating the passenger side seat belts on the second and third row seating the contact noticed the seat belt retention systems were not functioning. the seat belts would not tighten and hold in place. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they were unable to diagnose the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileages were 102,000. sm.

 Dt*: the contact stated the buckles for the second seat middle position failed to operate. the buckle male and female ends to not hold once buckled. this safety seat belt is the recommended location for children. the contact's child who is under one years old has to be located next to the vehicle's door instead. the contact express concern regarding the safety of the child in that location. the dealer has been alerted however there will be a cost to fix the vehicle.

 While driving 30 mph, the front tie rod separated and the consumer lost control of the vehicle. *ak the seat belt did not restrain the consumer properly and the air bag did not deploy. 4 days later the consumer received a letter in the from ford warning him about possible tie rod failure, the consumer stated the vin and other information was wrong which may have delayed receiving the mail. *jb

 Major front end collision. seat belt was on - driver sole occupant. air bag did not deploy. ford was notified, and to date has done nothing to explain why the airbag did not deploy. vehicle is available for inspection, but ford has not chosen to look at it, and cannot offer any reason why the airbag would not deploy in such a crash. driver struck chest on steering wheel, and it is beleived seat belt did not tighten either. *ak

 Center row passenger's side seat belt doesn't lock. lock was defective from manufacturer. cost will be covered under warranty.*ak *slc
 Driver's side seat belt clip will not go into buckle. dealer stated that seatbelt receiver needs to be replaced, and it's on national backorder. please provide further information.*ak
