On december 21st 2012 i left to drop my daughter at daycare... we got into the vehicle and i found i was unable to get my vehicle out of park and had to put it in neutral and start it (also found that the windows and wipers weren't operating at all either) ... my daughter stated mommy, i smell something burning and my assumption was the fuse had blown... i drove a few blocks and dropped her off and then stopped a block away at the local convenient store and upon exiting the store came out and found flames pouring out of my driver side wheel/ hood area. the 7-11 employee had a fire extinguisher and was able to put out the fire and i was informed and shown by the cary fire department where the fire had started and that there was a recall for that part in which i'm the fourth owner of. it took three weeks to get a reply from their general counsel department and in my eyes this needs to be expedited as i'm paying for a rental car that i can't afford... i'm not impressed by lack of urgency as i have no vehicle to get to and from work which is how i provide for me and my child

Started vehicle and began to drive when spark plug flew out of engine again. this is the third time this has happened and ford won't do anything about it. they claim that there is no problem when hundreds of people have had this happened. very costly, time consuming, and stressful. this should never happen and ford should take responsibility.

I pulled my ford expedition 2002 into a gas station, turned off the engine, and got out to pump gas. i began to notice that everyone else began frantically leaving and telling me to run. i saw smoke coming from my hood and assumed that it was just running hot but soon realized that the engine was off. within seconds i began to see flames and ran in fear that the entire gas station was going to explode. luckily fire trucks came within a minute a put the flames out and no one was harmed.

My ford expedition 2002 was recalled for fire hazard due to the cruise control. i had the repair done at mccoy mills ford in fullerton ca. and a few weeks later my car burse into flames in my driveway while parked. the car was totalled and now i do not have a car and can not buy any thing comprable for the 12,000 the insurane paid. i believe ford ows me the difference because i followed the rules and had the car repaird by them. what should i do now?

The spark plug in my 2002 ford expedition blew out while i was driving the speed limit on the highway. after this happened, i tried unsuccessfully to get my car repaired at a non-dealer mechanic. every mechanic i called said that they would not touch my car because of the engine and the threads being insufficient. and that most of the repairs are not lasting so the situation escalates to the point where they are losing money to fix this problem that they did not create. the dealer fixed my car and said that the fix has no warranty even though it cost me $1116.98 to repair. i was also told that the problem is common. and that 1 in 100 of the repairs do not hold. the spark plug repair is recommended at the 100k tune-up mark. my car has had all maintenance recommended by the manufacturing including the every 3k mile oil changes. this should not have happened to my car. it was near but not over the 100k mark. and even if the spark plugs had been changed as recommended, the coil would have still blown because the problem is with the thread on the engine, not the plug itself. this item should be recalled and ford knows that they are responsible for putting safe cars on the roads. thank you, vicki bezio *tr
