About 2 - 2 1/2 years ago we laid are middle seat down in the middle row of are expedition to make ease of are dogs getting in and out of the vehicle. but now i'm in the process of putting the seat up to go travel, but i am having concerns about the seat considering the seat will not re-latch in the up right position, to make it capable of holding 8 people total in the vehicle safely. the local shop doesn't have a clue but does agree its a safety hazard in a way. the only solution they can think of is to replace out what ever part that is bad and then go from there, pricing on part alone is ranging as high as 650 dollars for everything minus labor fees.

This is a used car we were going to buy at a reputable dealer's lot. salesman assured us it had not been in an accident. upon inspection by our mechanic, it was determined that this vehicle had extensive front end damage, being rebuilt with salvage parts and repainted, probably in mexico. the transmission needed costly repairs. it had also had the tailgate removed, possibly replaced, and the brake pedal was welded on.

On september 11, 2011 we hit a deer, the whole front of the expedition was destroyed. jim bass ford collision did the repaires. in the meantime they claim that the engine light was on due to the camshaft position sensor pigtail being bad. i claimed that before the accident everything was fine ( no engine light). the mechanic did confirm that they have had several expeditions with the same problem. as a consumer i think ford should be responsible to this engine outage called( pigtail sensor).

In feb. 08 i purchased a 08 ford expedition from champion ford.in june 08 i started having problems with the vehicle we took it to their service dept. where they said they did a comp. update so it worked until april of 09 same problem again they did another update (it happened before than but i only have record for these dates).it started again july 10 took it to ac collins ford they did an update as well, they had it from july10-14. now it has happened again started in nov 10 they recieved the vehicle at their location on 11152010 we went to get it on 11302010 we did not even make it out of the parking lot when it started again we turned around to let the know it was doing it again all they said wasthere is nothing we can do,we have done the update on the comp.that's all we can do.so we drove it home. the following morning we could not even start the vehicle but we kept trying and when it finally started the vehicle was worse off then ever before. so we returned it on 12012010 and ask them to fix it. so it has been there since then now they asked me to provide oil change reciepts which i did then they tell me the engine has sludge and will not be covered by the warranty and extended warranty that i purchased.so we picked up the vehicle and took it to bayway-lincoln to see if they can find the initial problem. may problem is why did it take them so many attempts to try to find what the problem was.maybe my engine would not be sludged up if they would have done what they were suppose to do in the first place because on the reciepts i have they state the did 115 point inspections i would thin they would have found out about the engine.

My husband has a 2008 ford expedition. the half hook is poorly designed therefore the carpet floor mat does not stay secure and the mat moves around and shifts alot when you are driving. my son was driving the expedition on sunday aug. 8,2010 when the floor mat moved, got bunched up under his feet and the brake pedal, which caused him to not be able to stop and he ran into a brick building. the more people i talk to the more i find out it happens to others but it's not reported because there's no accident. i reported this problem and the accident to ford and i was advised that this was a common occurance and they gave me a case # to give my insurance company.
