| The power steering assist function turned off and the vehicle wouldn't steer. the traction control was also disabled at the same time. the occurred first in my driveway and then the next day in a parking lot at a local business. after turning off the car and restarting the issue was cleared from the computer and the steering resumed working. the vehicle was towed to the local ford dealer for repair after the second incident. they are trying to find out the cause and make the repairs. | |||

| Upon medium to heavy acceleration, such as accelerating onto a freeway, the vehicle cabin is filled with exhaust fumes from the engine. this injures the respiratory system of the passengers. ford has finally admitted that there is a problem, and they are working on a fix (after my family has been breathing polluted air for almost 1.5 years). | |||

| Intermittently, while driving, the advanctrak and terrain management system warning light illuminated, and the service advanctrak warning appeared. at the same time, the power steering failed to work, and the power steering fault warning appeared. the turn signals also stopped working during these episodes. this has happened 5 times since september 9, 2012, all while driving the vehichle, inlcluding yesterday. in all cases, i had to take the truck off the road and completely shut down the vehichle - upon restarting, the warnings disappeared and the power streeing was restored. i have had the vehichle to the dealer twice now, with no issues found. i have a 3rd appointment with the dealer today. | |||

| I was taking my kids to school and was accelerating after a stop. the power steering went out and i lost all power. the powertrain malfunction light came on with the wrench symbol. i was able to get into a driveway and turn the car off. when i restarted it everything was back to normal. five days later i was again driving with kids. this time i was going about 35 mph on a road with no shoulder. the car lost power. i was able to get the hazard lights on and restart it before i was rear ended. this could have caused a serious wreck. the dealership service department said they could not duplicate the issue and there was no hard fault detected by the car's computer. so i just get to keep on driving and hoping for the best. | |||

| Ford myfordtouch system has failed on numerous occasions. it has frozen, locked up, and continuously rebooted. when this occurs, you lose all functionality and ability to change radio stations, adjust climate control, use navigation, hands free functions, etc. while there is some manual controls for basic operations, it does not allow full control of tall systems. for instance, when the mft system fails, you have no ability to turn on or adjust the rear climate controls for rear passengers. dealer has tried upgrading software, resetting software, reinstalling software, and replacing hardware. while the problem is not as bad as it has been, it continues with no resolve. | |||

| On july 4, 2012, was driving on the highway getting ready to exit in about 100 yards, as i was decreasing speed i heard and felt a light bang, the car seemed to surge like it was the transmission and brakes were pulsating, and had no power steering. car pulled severely to the right almost hitting the guard rail, could not steer. jammed on breaks, fortunately in the slow lane, and pulled over. power steering light and hill descent control fault came on, shut the car off and turned it back on power steering then worked but the traction control light on center console did not work until the next day when i took it to the dealer. dealer kept car for 2 days, returned it to me with no found no fault. on sunday, july 22, 2012, the same thing happened at 30 mph, felt the car jump forward then the power steering assit light and hill descent light came on as well as another light (i took pics of the error messages). this time when i pulled over and restarted it, it did not work, let the car sit for 15 minutes still did not work, called the towline and no answer, so drove the car 3 miles to home with no power steering or traction control. next day called dealer called dealer, and they said they could not take me in for another week, also stated they never heard of these issues, so i googled and found this website where other people are having the same problems. the traction control has happened numerous times (at least 10) and the power steering twice within 18 days. | |||

| Started vehicle and received terrain management warning, power steering fault and traction control fault. vehicle electronic power steering not working and terrain management system also disabled. will have to drive to dealership without power steering. shut off vehicle multiple times and restarted. same warnings and result. | |||

| I agree about the microphone on the my touch system. it picks up wind noise, air conditioning/heating fan noise & when it rains, driver can not be heard. it seems that the roof does not have insulation to allow the driver to speak to the microphone without shouting. i did mention this to the ford service department at our local ford dealer and was told that this is the way it comes from the factory. | |||

| Tl - the contact owns a 2011 ford explorer. the contact stated that when he tried to pressed the brake his foot rest on a bar thats next to the brake pedal instead of the brake pad. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that was the way the vehicle was design and they could not alter it. the manufacturer was not contacted. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileage was 60. pm | |||
