When vehicle's engine is cold, and approximately 8 minutes into driving, vehicle will cut off while in motion & wrench light comes on. vehicle then has to be guided to a stop with no power or can be shifted into neutral & restarted while still moving. following vehicle restart engine light is on. code indicates truck has been placed in limp home mode. after about 2 weeks, engine light goes off. i was advised to replace the throttle body in feb. 2010, however the throttle body had just been replaced in april 2007 when the vehicle was only 2 years old.

My fuel control module shorted out which caused my pcm to be erased. it seems to be a common problem after researching it, but no recall has been issued. my pregnant wife was driving my truck and lost all power. this resulted in a near accident due to having no power steering and less brake control. if this is such a common problem with the placement of the control module why has this not been recalled. $1000 later i hope this doesn't happen again. *tr

While driving our truck the driver side window slowly lowered itself and would not raise up. this was approximately 2 years ago. yesterday, september 25, 2011 about 2pm, the passenger side window went down on its own and would not raise up. i turned off the hwy i was on and luckily avoided a wreck. today sept. 29, 2011, i called ford motor company, told them about the window and the previous window being fixed, gave them my vin#, name, telephone# and was told there are no recall's and they are not aware of any problems and cannot help us financially with this problem. i told them, i was filling a complaint with them and notifying you.

Driver side power window is having issues rolling up. will roll down fine, but when i go to roll it up, gets stuck halfway through. i have to grab top of the window to force it back all the way up. i had this problem 2 years ago when truck was under warranty and dealer replaced free of charge. now i'm already having the same issue only 2 years later- i read a ton of posts on the web and it looks like this is an ongoing problem with fords and should be something that should be recalled. there are reports of windows shattering on the highway for being only rolled up halfway when the window would not roll up- also what if i get stuck in a bad part of town, like compton, ca and my window won't roll up?

My 2005 ford f150 pick-up drivers side window made a loud bang when i went to roll it up. i was driving when this happened and was very startled, allmost hitting the car next to me. i looked for a website to fix it and found they have several issues with their electric windows. add one more.

I have a 2005 ford f150 truck. the end of december 2009 the driver's side window fell down. it started with the electric window button sticking and ended up all of a sudden falling down. the ford mechanics said this is not unusual and could happen to all 4 windows. this is not a covered service for repair.*cw

I was driving @ 45mph when engine suddenly stalled out and lost all power, rpms, and power steering. check engine lights came on, along with check gauges message. pulled over, turned off truck, then started up and everything was fine again. this is the second time this has happened. since everything is working again, it wont give a diagnostic code, so problem cannot be fixed. i have read alot online of this happening to others, but ford seems oblivious to the fact. some say it could be a throttle positioning sensor. *tr

Speedometer and gauges all drop to zero, power to clock/radio goes off, flash of abs light and then flash of srs light, when gauges return to normal the low fuel signal goes on in the odometer until the fuel gauge returns to normal. srs light blinks 5 times then 3 times, repeats, and then stays on until the vehicle is shut off. this happens while the vehicle is being driven down the road and may happen multiple times in a row. *tr

While driving 35 mph my ford f150 truck engine shut down. the truck lost all power brakes and steering. seconds before it stalled a engine malfunction light came on. i was only able to re-start after coming to a complete stop, placing the truck in park and turning the key off then back on. took it to dealer and they road tested and diagnosed codes; p2104, p0121 and p2112. pinpointed and found electronic throttle body physically sticking closed. replaced etb and retested ok after repairs. this was not covered under warranty. time of failure the truck mileage was 33900. see service repair order. *tr

My truck has 56k on it bought it used with 35k on it when it starts runs with high idle and the top end ticks really bad the ticking does not go away at all speeds at a stop light it sounds like a diesel tic tic tic sounds like a lifter is stuck. i put lucas in it to try to make it go away then i changed the oil ran about two weeks with no difference and changed it again and no change called ford dealer they couldn't help they said i would have take it in and get charged $165. then i changed the spark plugs maybe a fouled plug that wasn't it there goes 120 bucks a couple of weeks ago my wife was driving on the freeway and the drivers side window falls the window regulator broke $140 replaced that already. the passenger seat belt locks up sometimes now to the front the steering wheel shakes really bad when you apply the brakes turned the rotors at napa $20 new brake pads $90 at kragens balanced tires free i work at a tire shop shaking went away for about three days 350 miles later the shaking is back with a vengeance checked the balancing on the tires they were good rotors are out of shape again still on there now and the shaking is getting worse i cant afford them right now so they will stay there hooked up the snap on ehtos computer to it and registers that two sensors have an open circuit but no explanation for top end noise injectors might be bad. *tr

Multiple window regulator assembly failures during normal use of the vehicle and even parked in some instances. it happens randomly and causes much stress. if you are driving in the extreme heat, snow or a heavy rain storm you can do nothing about it. if you have passengers especially small children they will have to suffer until you can get to a service station or have the tools on hand to fix it. once the window falls you are exposed to the elements with no protection from having the window up. the window falls into the door and you cannot get the window back up unless you take the door panel off and manually shove the window up and place something there to hold it. i have had the parts replaced every time and it continues to happen and to multiple people. it has happened to me five times in three years.

Driving on the freeway at approximately 70 miles per hour i activated the vehicles' cruise control system. without warning the vehicles' interior lighting came on and i subsequently noticed that the vehicle had died ( engine, was no longer running). in a panic, i attempted to turn the ignition key with negative results. i cautiously pulled to the shoulder of the freeway, placed the transmission in park and turned the ignition key to the off position. i then turned the key to the starting position and the vehicle started again. this occurred on two separate occasions. an additional issue with the vehicles air conditioning system has happened several times wherein (usually within the first couple minutes of start up) when the air conditioning is turned on, on the auto setting, for example at the 60 degree setting on high, the system will intermittently turn off and then turn on displaying 72 degrees, then turn off, maybe back on again etc., blowing at a much lower speed. addressed complaints with ford dealership, however, (as always) they were unable to duplicate problem. inquired about any service bulletins and informed that there were none. thank you for your time. *tr

I was on a trip out of town and i smelt something burning. few minutes later, i saw smoke coming out of the corner center console. i pulled over to investigate and saw a light shining through the side of my console that didn't belong there. when i turned off my headlights and the light would turn off and stop melting the plastic of the console. this could have been worse for me had it not been daylight! it turns out it was the light that connects to the gear shift to illuminate the letters (p, r, d, etc.) had not been screwed in tightly at the manufacture. ford replaced the console, the connection bracket and the light socket as they had melted together. my husbands light in his f150 unscrewed too, but didn't cause any damage. *nm

Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle's factory key was defective and does not start the vehicle. the vehicle included 3 keys; 2 good and 1 defective. any time a good key was used to lock the door, the defective key does not work at all when attempting to start the vehicle. the defective key worked if it used to lock the door before starting up. the vehicle was taken to a dealer, who programmed another key, but the problem persisted. the vehicle was brought back to the dealer who expressed that another key could not be reprogrammed because of the way the vehicle was manufactured. the manufacturer was contacted three times and suggested that the vehicle be taken to another dealer. the other dealer could not duplicate the problem, and offered no resolution.
