We have had 3 actuators on our windows in our ford f-150 go out while driving on the highway. we almost had a very bad accident when the last one exploded. it sounds like someone has shot the windshield when it happens and it is very hard to concentrate on driving and not swerve into another car or go off the road. i have talked to many people that have had the same problem with their ford vehicles. this is very dangerous and could cause a fatal accident. we did go off the road when the first one broke, and if we had been on a highway with another car beside us, we would have hit it.

My ford f-150, 2005 model has a wheel bearing defect that causes bearing failure and break wobble due to the weak bearings that's on 2004-2009 ford f-150- 2wd trucks. the bearings can't be changed unless you purchase the entire installation (rotors, abs hub bearing and one-time use nut.) ford knows that the bearings are weak but will not authorize a repair unless you use original equipment. ford put out a bulletin to use 4x4 parts on the 2wd vehicle. the 4x4 parts includes 3 pieces which included a more durable and harder bearing than what comes on the 2wd. there is only one place in texas that will due this repair (just brakes.) the repair is 300.00 per side but is a permanent fix for the weak bearings. also each part can be change individually. ford will sell you the parts but they will not make this repair to your vehicle. the bearings have a constant humming noise and the biggest mistake that is made is that. the nut is not change when the breaks are bearings are replaced. by not changing the nut the torque value can't be reached again. i had this repair done at just brakes and my truck hasn't riden this well in 2 yrs. ford needs to be requested to reimburse all owners that have had this problem. it is a very dangerous matter.

2005 ford f150 window regulator failure.

I was driving on the interstate and heard a loud pop and thought someone had shot at my car, it scared me and with my response swerved and i almost had an accident. later as it turned out it was a common window regulator defect on ford trucks and suv's. they have built it with the purpose of failure and a high cost to the owner to repair this and no guarantee that it will work and not fail again soon. this should be a recall to all those ford's with this failure. it is going to cost just under $400.00 to fix with no guarantee. it is indeed a safety issue when it happens while driving at high speeds or anywhere around any other cars, not to mention the window dropping, who knows it could shatter and cause a severe injury.

2005 ford f150 - driver's side window suddenly failed and fell down inside the door.

I was driving down the road and out of nowhere! my driver's door window slid/fell hard down into my door for no reason!! i didn't even hit a bump! not sure if the window broke at the bottom inside the door or not. now it won't go up. upon looking for the possible cause online, i read that ford knows that this is an equipment defect and potential safety issue but has so far refused to do anything about it. this could have happend anywhere, even in a mall parking lot where someone would have instant access to the interior. not to mention the safety issues, weather, etc.

I had a sudden failure of the power brakes on my '05 ford f-150 due to a vacuum valve that is located on the back side of the motor midway down of the motor on the back side between motor and firewall. this was not a warranty item due to my truck having 50,000 miles on it. the remedy is to get the 30$ valve and remove the top half of the motor just to get to the vacuum valve, due to the labor intensiveness of the job labor is $400. luckily i did not have an accident but you will only have manual brakes when this vacuum line comes off in addition to a rough running truck. *cn

Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle's factory key was defective and does not start the vehicle. the vehicle included 3 keys; 2 good and 1 defective. any time a good key was used to lock the door, the defective key does not work at all when attempting to start the vehicle. the defective key worked if it used to lock the door before starting up. the vehicle was taken to a dealer, who programmed another key, but the problem persisted. the vehicle was brought back to the dealer who expressed that another key could not be reprogrammed because of the way the vehicle was manufactured. the manufacturer was contacted three times and suggested that the vehicle be taken to another dealer. the other dealer could not duplicate the problem, and offered no resolution.

Dt: consumer complained that jack that came with vehicle does not extend high enough so that he can change a flat. the flat tire will come off, but the replacement tire that is inflated will not go on with the jack fully extended. consumer had a flat on vehicle at on august 4, 2005 around 1:00 am. consumer had to call for help. he was stranded due to improper jack. he was unable to change the tire. tow truck driver t came to the scene used his jack to lift vehicle, and tow truck drivers jack was also too short. he had to use a 4x4 piece of wood under jack to change flat. consumer believed that jack was probably made for a 15 inch tire. this vehicle had 17 inch tires. when changing the flat with the jack supplied with vehicle it fell off of the jack.*ak updated 1/4/2006 - *nm
