On september 20, 2010, the window regulator failed abruptly while i was driving my 2005 ford f150 at 55 mph. the front passenger window fell into the door without warning. on october 13, 2010, the rear driver's side window failed in the same fashion. both incidents struck me as very dangerous with a comparably high probability to cause an accident. after this last incident, i reviewed the numerous websites dedicated to this issue and the concern expressed by many drivers that ford has refused to respond to what is clearly a grave safety hazard. why has nhtsa not addressed this issue? .

Easy access into ford trucks having plastic door handles and back plates. while the break in is not a direct safety issue, it could potentially be. it takes up valuable police resources investigating these crimes, which may be needed elsewhere. the thief has the potential to remove insurance cards, registrations, etc. containing personal information that are generally stored in glove boxes. there should be a reasonable amount of security that one can expect while in or away from a vehicle. the door handle and back plate design are faulty and allow for easy, rapid entry into the vehicle. *tr

Purchased a 2005 f-150 4x4 ford pick-up truck and immediately felt a strong vibration throughout the truck. took it back to three different dealerships each one claiming they fix it. the vibration still exists and now the steering wheel is vibrating. i believe this truck is unsafe. i will continue to exhaust all avenues to repair or replace this truck. *nm

Ford f-150 developed severe chassis shudder at 60 mph on freeway. exited freeway and shudder did not continue when travel resumed. *nm

My paint job was defective and thin, my windshield was not sealed properly, there are ticking noises from under the dashboard, the front end is too heavy for the added weight to the truck, the transmission stalls the truck when it rolls backwards in drive, the truck shakes at high speeds and has excessive tire wear, which is the only thing that ford has all but admitted to by extending the excessive tire wear/ride harshness warranty from 1yr/12,000 miles to 3yrs/36,000 miles. have you ever heard of a car company giving away something unless there was a serious problem with this vehicle. *nm

Dt: the contact stated water leaked into the inside of the truck cab. the vehicle has been to the dealer once for inspection. no cause was discovered. the wiring that under the floor mat on the passenger side was under water and froze into ice. when the manufacturer was contacted they offered an extended warranty to the contact. no repairs have been made. *ak

The coil packs and plugs have been changed on different times and the vehicle still has the same problems. ford has to find a better solution to fix these ongoing issues so the customer does not have to keep paying all this money for the same problems over and over again. engine lost power on several occasions and shakes when idling. paint on front of vehicle started peeling off. all service work has been conducted a t a ford dealership since the vehicle was purchased except for today with (2) more coil packs had to be installed at a local garage. this is apparently a big problem and something has to be done about it or ford will find good customers going to other vehicle brands.

When accelerating slowly from a stop light, the drivers side window fell down into the door. apparently the window regulator broke, an issue which is documented on numerous internet sites. the window dropping into the door created a very distracting driving situation, not to mention visual safety hazards as in today during rainy, foggy, humid conditions affecting the visibility through the remaining glass in the vehicle. *tr

Driving to church on may 6th, 2012 @ 0900 a.m. on the interstate traveling @ 70 mph. i lowered the window about an inch. when i pressed the button to raise the window a loud pop occurred and the window dropped into the door-well. it scared everyone in the truck. it was a sunny day. potential for loss of life is present with this issue. inclement weather or blinding debris within the cab could raise the potential for loss of life. please petition ford motor company for a recall on this potentially life threatening issue.

I have a 2005 ford f-150 fx4 with 48,000 miles. towards the middle of winter, i noticed that the paint inside of the gas cap door at the bottom edge was starting to peel away from the body. it has progressively gotten worse over the last couple of months and is now visible with the gas door shut. i find this very disappointing considering the truck only has 48,000 miles on it and has been well taken care of. *tr

Passenger side window regulator failure - fell inside door. according to dealer is a very common complaint caused by ford using cheap plastic clips to secure cables. had to tape up the window with plastic to proceed home. this is very unsafe and i know that ford is aware of the problem but refuses to fix this defect because the vehicle is out of warranty. glass cracked when it fell inside the door. ford needs to fix this common defect, or at least tell all future customers of this - before they put their money into this shoddy workmanship. *tr

Dealer did not repair vehicle per the recall notice,no work was done at all. contacted dealer serv. mgr., no attempt to look at vehicle. called ford cust serv. just took info ,no follow-up or call back. filled out cust card after service was performed noting complaint,no call or attempt to contact me. talked to a salesperson via email about dealer when approached to buy a truck by sales person, did not report to general mgr. about my issue with his serv. dept.. recall was for power brake booster line which fails. no sign of new parts, clamps or disturbed engine compartment dirt, grime, etc. when i brought truck home right after service. *tr

Dt: the contact stated the front and rear third do not always close completely. this sometimes allowed water to leak into the vehicle when it rained or when it was washed. there was no indicator letting the contact know the door did not close properly. the dealer was not contacted. *ak

Dt*: the contact stated the tailgate detached from the vehicle and was hanging by the cables. this occurred while driving over a bump at 10 mph, hauling a 300 pound couch. the dealership and manufacturer determined this was not a manufacturer's defect though they admitted that it was not the contact's fault. the contact felt that the tailgate was built extremely light, and it was spring loaded. felt that the dealer should take responsibility and repair the vehicle. *ak

Was sitting idle in a parking lot when suddenly i heard a loud pop. when i started to roll my window down on my 2005 ford f150 super cab, the window dropped down and sounded like broken glass. after removing the panel i saw the cable messed up. then after googling to find an answer, i discovered that this is the exact problem that dozens, perhaps hundreds of others are experiencing with the power window regulator. the plastic clip breaks and the cable gets messed up. ford is making a killing off owners by using cheap, breakable parts. this should be recalled! i have no money to replace this regulator right now, so i am at the mercy of the gods in hope that someone doesn't steal my truck, or it doesn't rain, since with this part broken the window will not stay up. please push this through for a recall! *tr
