I bought truck in aug 2008 with vibration in steering wheel and the tires were cupped. i replaced the struts, shocks and tires and an alignment was done at that time. the vibration continued, so all the rotors and brakes pads were replaced and the parking brakes adjusted. the truck still shakes violently as if tires are out of balance or about to fall off the truck. i have not found a solution other than to stop driving the vehicle and waiting for 15 minutes before driving again (i do not know if this helps, but feel better doing so). as of the last occurrence (not towing anything), i noticed the shaking begin before a fuel fill-up and then stop after the fill-up. i will note the vibration occured at the 3/4 fill mark and continued until the 1/2 fuel fill mark was reached. i was able to drive for the next 1/4 tank of fuel with no incidence. the violent vibration returned at the 3/4 tank mark and ceased upon reaching the 1/2 tank fill mark . the vibration stopped for the next 1/4 tank and only marginally returned upon reaching the final 1/4 fuel fill mark.

I bought a truck at selinsgrove ford about a month ago. the night i got it home i noticed it sounded like a diesel.. that was fine then when you get up to about 55mph its has a bad shimmy and i had it back a couple of different time and they say they don't know what to do about it now. it had to be wrecked or something because there was a crease on the bumper and the drivers side door needed adjusted. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 ford f-150. while driving 45-55 mph, the vehicle experiences moderate to severe shaking. the road conditions are not a factor. the shaking is so severe that the contact has to stop the vehicle. the brakes, brake pads, and rotors were changed, but that has not remedied the failure. the windshield wipers also raised away from the windshield when the shaking occurred. when the contact shut off the engine and restarted the vehicle, the shaking stopped. all four of the tires were replaced. the dealer disassembled and rebuilt the emergency brake, which was dragging and wore out the lining. the approximate failure and current mileages were 45,000. updated 09/10/08. *lj the consumer stated the problem was intermittent. updated 09/12/08. *jb

2005 ford f-150 super crew 4x4: truck shutters around 50 mph. ford dealer says one of my tires are bad(disintegrating)? tire dealer shows no record of this happening with the tires i have on my vehicle. waited several thousand miles, had tires balanced by tire dealer, all four tires balance to 0(zero), no tire disintegration per tire dealer. truck still shutters under power. trying lincoln mercury dealer to see what their mechanics come up with.

Had my f150 for less than 3 months when noticed the vibration when applying the brakes, also has rough idle, and rough suspension. took to dealer they stated nothing wrong... well now its been about 9 month and the vibration has gotten so bad that when brakes are applied you get the steering wheel shaking along with the truck. again i took to the dealer now they tell me my rotors are warped and i need an alignment and new tires cause it ate the tread off the inside of the tires, and they want to charge me $400.00. i talked to the tire warranty department he even said that it shouldn't be happening along with many others. but ford service says it normal.....now i am driving a truck with kids that is unsafe. are they wanting for people to die before they correct this problem?? *jb

Please help a consumer! i question the safety and long term value of the new ford f150 trucks my name is jim and i am writing you as a last ditch effort to inform the public about a production issue with the ford f150 trucks that vibrate under normal driving conditions. about three months ago i purchased a new f150 and from that point i have had a vibration and transmission issue. ford has not been able to correct it and in the process i found that the dealership i bought the truck from forged some invoice documents. i was shocked to find this problem all over the country when i started to look into it. you can see for yourself if you search google for topics like 2005 f150 vibration. if you would like, i could send you a list of websites to help. in all fairness to ford they deserve a chance to inform the public about this and i am in the process of working with a lawyer to get my money back. i have attached a copy of my nightmare to this email and just wanted to let you know i have followed every protocol set by ford. i have also noticed that ford just likes to have problems delayed and expect people to run out of money when trying to recover their original purchase. you will also find emails attached from people across the country with the same problem. this story is not a waste of your time. please feel free to search the internet, you will find all the supporting information you need. can you please find the time to help get the word out and make things right? i just want my money back and do not want anyone else to fall into this trap. help from the press would not allow ford motor company to stonewall people. lets give ford a chance to help the consumer. call anytime 248-431-5857 - i am willing to provide all supporting info including service records, research, and contacts from across the usa. thanks jim smith. *nm

 1. as i was leaving the wal-mart parking lot the right front upper ball joint on my 1995 ford f-150 4x4 broke apart and disabled the vehicle. the ball joint manufacturer apparently did not put grease in the joint when it was manufactured. 2. i do not know how often this part fails on the ford f-150. it failed on my vehicle at 62k miles due to a manufacturing deficiency. fortunately the failure was at parking lot speed. had it occurred at highway speeds i could have easily been killed and possibly killed others as the vehicle was uncontrollable when the part failed. 3. i had the vehicle hauled to the local ford dealer and they replaced it at a cost of over $500. fearing that the left front might also fail i had it replaced for a total cost $1,071.94. i requested that all parts be saved and provided to me and have all that were provided. i discovered upon examination that they did not include the rust pitted ball joint in the parts they provided me but the torn open joint assembly and rest of the parts are included. the ford dealer who made the repairs and the president of ford motor company through his representative have refused to provide any warranty on this defective part as there is currently no recall in place on this vehicle for this part. i do not know if this occurs often but they had the parts in stock for the right front repair. when i asked for the left front to be repaired they had to order those parts in. i have documentation of this matter and my attempts to get the repairs covered under warranty. i have driven many ford vehicles over the past 45 years in excess of 100k miles (one over 200k miles) and have never had up upper ball joint fail. this is clearly a manufacturing defect and constitutes a danger to any driver of the f-150. *tr

I bought this truck with 48,000 miles on it. it had a bad shake in the rear area. also a bad brake shimmy. took to ford dealership i bought it. couldn't find anything wrong. told normal! i worked in the service dept of a ford dealership i know normal. 53,000 or so miles bad clunking from transfer area wouldn't go into 4 wheel drive 1/2 the time took to ford, told nothing wrong again. 72,000 miles transmission goes out. told nothing could be done, out by 2000 miles. i was a service manager for a ford dealership they could do a supplement on the warranty. i asked for 1/2 of cost told no. even after documentation of all the services and complaints told to bad so sad. this truck has had transmission troubles, 4 wheel drive trouble, the power window switch fell apart in the door and a bad brake shimmy even after i had a 4 wheel brake job done, its still there. no help from ford at all! *tr

Dt*: the contact stated the front end vibrated at 45mph and above. the vehicle was taken to the local dealership for inspection numerous times. the dealer replaced the driveshaft, transmission mounts, cut the rotors and tightened the pinion in the rear end. although these repairs were made, this did not remedy the problem.

My paint job was defective and thin, my windshield was not sealed properly, there are ticking noises from under the dashboard, the front end is too heavy for the added weight to the truck, the transmission stalls the truck when it rolls backwards in drive, the truck shakes at high speeds and has excessive tire wear, which is the only thing that ford has all but admitted to by extending the excessive tire wear/ride harshness warranty from 1yr/12,000 miles to 3yrs/36,000 miles. have you ever heard of a car company giving away something unless there was a serious problem with this vehicle. *nm

Excessive tire wear on all four tires in a 9 month time span. had dealership look at the truck and was told that the alignment was off and it wasn't up to them to take care of the alignment but was told to contact tire manufacturer. while talking to the manufacturer rep on the phone she advised that she had read memos from ford about problems with the alignment specs on the vehicle. ford continues to refuse any kind of warranty work. *jb

The 2005 f150 supercrew has a shutter in the rear end when accelerating from a complete stop. a family friend had alerted us about ford's service bulletin about this problem, but has not issued a recall to the best of my knowledge. our friend, a mechanic, felt the problem were the bearings in the rear end, so he installed all new bearings, however, this has not solved the problem. my vehicle only has 51,000 miles on it and it should not have problems like this. also, the engine has a knock in it. a local mechanic stated ford was also aware of this problem and will not issue a recall!*ak
