On august 3, 2012 the passenger window dropped and the regulator assembly had to be replaced. yesterday, march 2, 2013 the driver side window would not go up. the regulator with motor had to be replaced. i think ford needs to recall their vehicles, and replace their defective parts.

When accelerating slowly from a stop light, the drivers side window fell down into the door. apparently the window regulator broke, an issue which is documented on numerous internet sites. the window dropping into the door created a very distracting driving situation, not to mention visual safety hazards as in today during rainy, foggy, humid conditions affecting the visibility through the remaining glass in the vehicle.

Parking my truck in my garage, stopped, put transmission in park, closed drivers door power window, heard loud pop, sounded as if glass broke, but it did not. window fell down into door, would not raise up. pressing power button, i could hear motor running, but window would not move.

I was leaving an atm (it was raining), i rolled up the drivers window. when the window reached the top the window fell (free fall was more like it) in to the door. once i removed the door panel and inspected the window parts i found the regulator failed/broke. we are thankful the window did not break and injure us.

Cross-reference ford tsb 07-13-5: water leak from ac has flooded the passenger floor pan and all associated carpeting and padding. significant health hazard exists in warm climates due to the proliferation of respiratory hazards including but not limited to legionnaire's disease. the item should be a recall for this reason. i have lost use of my truck due to the inability to sufficiently dry the padding - i have had the vehicle drying for one week in hot florida sun to no avail.

Driving my son home from school, heard a loud pop in the driver's side door, which made me jerk the wheel (glad i wasn't going very fast), then the driver's side window fell into the frame. dealership claims broken window regulator. went online and found hundreds of complaints of the same. called ford complaint number; they very kindly told me there was nothing they could do at this time. too many complaints of the same issue to not be on recall list.

For the third time, i have had a door widow drop from a fully closed position to a fully open position. in doing reseach on the issue, i find that this is a common problem with 2004 - 2005 model year f150 crew cabs.

Driver side window just fell in the door while driving.

Yes my 4x4 is not working and i have read over 300 post easy about the same problem people are having. thousands of people are having the same problem i have had with my truck. obviously if there are that many people with the same year of truck and same problem why isnt ford doing a recall? they say the problem is the iwe, solenoid, the problem why it happens in the first place is there isnt a rain cover over the solenoid underneath the hood. i do believe that this is a hudge saftey hazzard and almost caused me to be in an accident about three weeks ago because my four wheel drive went out! ford please do a recall before someone gets hurt or even die! i do believe that ford should be responsible for this issue and have a recall to get these vehicles fixed.

The paint is peeling off down to the metal on the roof of my truck. this is a $38,000 truck that i have kept washed and waxed since i bought it. ford will not claim responsibility.

While sitting still, using the power window switch to raise driver side window, the window rolled all the way up and then heard a grinding noise, and the window drop into the door in less than a second. this has previously happen on the passenger side window about a year ago.

I own a 2005 ford f150 xlt w/ electric windows. my truck has 82,000 miles on it and has been serviced by the dealership regularly since i bought it new. i was driving to run errands and my drivers side window made a large pop noise and started to slide down inside my door. i was traveling about 40mph on a busy two way street. i used one hand to hold my window up and the other to steer until i could find a spot to pull over. i eventually had to let the window drop to the bottom of the door to return home.

Faulty window regulators on f150 trucks. driving back from california to nevada with my two year old granddaughter in the back seat and the window fell in to to door. we had to drive 300 miles in a rain storm with the window down, and this is the third time this has happened since i bought this truck new in 2005 and ford will not take responsibility for the issue. this is not except able by the manufacture and because this has happened to so many people we need to boycott buying ford products.

I have a 2005 ford f150 4 door. while driving, i heard a loud pop and my drivers door window fell to the bottom of the door. the loud noise was a shock and a possible safety hazard. approximately a week later, the right rear window did the same thing!! i have read several things on line about this stating that the window regulators going out on these vehicles is a common problem. i have not had either fixed due to the cost. there are numerous issues with this problem on line and needs to be recalled.

I was driving along in my 2005, ford f-150 pick-up truck about to make a stop when the passenger side window just fell into the door, it sounded like a small explosion frightening myself and my wife who was a passenger. i have read to many stories concerning the problems with the windows falling to not report this one. if it have not happen yet, there is the possibility of one of these glasses breaking and flying out of the window frame because my glass temporarily hung at an awkward position prematurely before dropping down into door frame.

It was a scorching sunny florida day when my window on my 2005 f150 would no longer work due to a window motor regulator assembly failure that the dealership would like to repair it at the wonderful cost of over $300 american dollars. the window motor regulator assembly has been intermittently working in the truck for the past few months, not to mention the window switch which had to be replaced at my own expense a couple about a year ago on my truck which is was only 4 1/2 years old at the time. the window would no longer roll up, causing severe sun burn to arms. ford should repair this issue at no cost, especially since it is a known problem already.

2005 f150 supercrew 4x4 lariat; with a 5.4 3 valve/cylinder engine; check engine light came on and indicated cylinder 5; mechanic went to pull the plug which broke in two with the bottom part still in the block. had to have it towed to a ford dealer; $150 to remove the plug plus $29 parts and labor. plug has a design flaw that ford has known about since at least 1997. for most triton egnine owners, you find out the hard way when the engine light comes on or when you go in for a tune up; minimum cost $150; for every broken plug - $150 to remove it; if it can not be removed, the engine and/or front end has to be pulled (per ford repair bulletin) to remove the head(s). cost: $1,000 - $3,000. most vehicles are out of warranty by this time which ford then dismisses as not a warranty problem but rather a service issue. the dealerships make a killing off the customers because of an inept, incompetently designed spark plug. ford has known about this problem since the late 1990s but refuses to do anyting as the ntsb has done nothing to issue a recall. duh

Attempted to have spark plugs changed in accordance with vehicle maintenance manual at 100,000 mile. while this was being done 3 factory installed motorcraft spark plugs broke off. as a result i was charged a total of almost $700 for the removal of these broken plugs. the dealership technician informed me that 100% of all 2004-2007 f150 trucks that have the plugs removed as required at 100,000 miles have plugs that break. ford nor the dealership would cover the cost of this defective product and defective ford design.

Truck would idle extremely bad, when you cut it off it wouldn't start. this started happening on friday, december 31, 2010. i took the truck to firestone and they run a diagnostic test which at the time did not show the throttle body problem because the check engine light was not on at the time. however, firestone replaced the fuel filter, did a tune up and replaced the battery and removed the gas tank to clean it but this still did not resolve the problem and this cost me $369. the truck was then taken to a ford dealership and on the way there the check engine light did come on. the dealership advised us after the diagnostic test that we needed a throttle body and electronic egr valve which will cost $1330.00.

2005 f150 just dies without any warning. driving down the hwy and just dies. it happens frequently, just dies, it always takes a few tries to get it restarted. we were told that the throttle body needs to be replaced. we know at least 4 other familys that also have 2005 f150's and they have experienced the same problem. my co-worker has hers in the ford shop right now and they are charging 1300.00 to fix it. it seems to me that with all of the complaints this should be a safety recall and replaced by ford co.

We onwed a 2005 f150 vehicle. we purchase the vehicle 2004 and the drivers side window's regulated failed a loud sound was heard and the window came down by itself. today 12/10/2010 the passenger side front indow did the same thing. we are now out of warranty and with no money to pay for the window. there has being so many complains in the internet about this particular issue that if the research is done you will find this is a defect since before the 2005 were made. i don't belive that the consumer has to pay for a manufacture defect of this kind.

2005 ford f-150. had window regulator replaced in may for driver's window. just had passenger window roll down on its own on the highway during a thunderstorm. i was in the backseat while my husband and father-in-law were in the front. i was drenched, as was the interior. i contacted ford and they basically said not our problem, i can't afford the $500+ it costs to get it fixed, especially when i have talked to numerous people who have had the same problems. this is obviously an ongoing issue with them and i can't understand why ford hasn't been forced to do a recall. what if someone in the backseat was hit by a hailstone? what if the glass had shattered and hit that child? what if the window went down while at an intersection and someone had carjacked me? i could be dead because ford wants to put out shoddy work and not stand behind it. i have had other issues with this truck, but this is the worst. my handle for the tilt steering wheel broke off after 6 months, the back part of the side mirror fell off while i was driving to work one morning. please do whatever has to be done to force a recall.
06/09/200839738
The left front window regulator failed and window fell down into door 06/09/2010 at 39738 miles. causing the vehicle to be vulnerable to theft. (at the time vehicle was parked overnight) repair at the dealer was $384.00 - second failure was to the right front window regulator while driving. 11-13-2010 @ 61400 miles loud pop while window was being rolled up. window dropped into door. this action caused an immediate distraction to me while driving the vehicle. this could be very unsafe and cause an accident! i truly believe these regulators are not sufficiently designed to reliable standards. i believe ford should be made to replace the regulators with a new designed part at no cost to the customer. there are hundreds if not thousands of testimonials for this bad order part. ford is not willing to aid in this matter.

I have a 2005 ford f150. while driving three days ago i heard a loud pop and suddenly my front passenger side window was gone, it had fallen into the door. the motor still runs, but the window is stuck in the down position. today while starting my truck, the driver's side window did the same thing, a loud pop then the window slid slowly into the door. the motor still runs on this one as well, but does not move the window. so now i have two windows that are inside the door that will not go up.

2005 f-150 window regulator failures. rear driver side failed 9/2009 (60000 miles), front passenger side failed 10/2010 (72000 miles). both failures occured without cause with the window suddenly falling into the door.

On my way home from work one day while driving down the interstate, i decided to get a little fresh air so i rolled my drivers side window down. when i tried to roll it back up there was a loud grinding sound and a pop. after this my window slammed down inside the door. i was so startled that i almost lost control of my vehicle. once i got home, i took apart my door and found that the power window regulator had broken. i called the ford service dept only to find out the repair cost would be in excess of $300. i found the part through a napa dealer and repaired the problem myself for around $150.00 since this incidence my passenger side window and rear passenger side window have both slammed down. i now know the familiar sound of the window regulator about to fail. every time this happens i am out of pocket for $150 plus my time to repair. this seems to be a re-occurring problem with 05 ford 150 owners and ford should be responsible. i could have easily over corrected my vehicle upon being startled and injured myself or someone else.

I was driving down the highway in my f150 when my driver side window drop making a loud noise. i almost lost control of the vehicle and my 3 yr in the back seat was very frightened. we were 3hours from home. i was able to drive but we hit a thunderstorm 1 hour from home. it was very hard to control my vehicle and i went to the nearest gas station to weight out the storm. there have been over 1,000 complaints filed and probably is only the tip of the iceberg. this part which is the regulator needs to be recalled.

I was driving my 2005 ford f150 fx4 and traveling at approximately 45 mph when all of a sudden my front driver's side window came crashing down. i was shocked not knowing at all what was going on. i momentarily had little or no control of the vehicle due to my sudden shock and confusion. once i had realized that the window had basically just fallen from its closed position, i was furious. furious that something as simple as a window suddenly crashing open, almost caused me to crash into oncoming traffic, endangering my life as well as my wife's and others on the road. i know this may not seem very dangerous, but put yourself in the driver's seat and imagine your window being shot out while traveling 45mph. it was terrifying, and i am lucky not to have had a more serious incident. i immediately drove my vehicle to the nearest ford dealer. to my dismay, the service manager informed me that there was not a current recall for this situation and i would need to have a new window regulator installed. basically, the window regulator failed, which caused the window to crash down. after researching this problem, i have found that thousands of others have had this same issue (some multiple times) with either the 2004 or 2005 year models. this is absolutely a serious problem with this model and needs to be addressed immediately. ford needs to issue a safety recall now to make this right for the loyal customers.

While driving on the highway at a speed of 55-65. i thought i was shot at causing me to be distracted from my driving. when i pulled over to see if i was shot or if something hit my car i noticed my left hand rear window was down in the door. this occured yesterday 9/27/10. when i returned home i pulled off the panel and found that the window regulator in my 2005 ford f150 was not working. after inquiring about repairing this i noticed that this problem with ford's window regulators is an ongoing issue and that there is a number of complaints by patrons replacing up to four windows in one vehicle. this is certainly a safety issue and an insurance issue regarding accidents and theft of vehicle and property. these windows fall at any given time while parked or driving. this issue needs to be investigated for sure! when i thought i was shot at it scared me so bad especially in these times when you have shooters out there on the freeways and highways. these car manufactures are using faulty parts to these regulators for the windows and warranties and will not cover them as the parts are not warranted. i can't imagine someone getting killed or in an accident over a small plastic part in a window regulator. please address this situation. a total recall of these window regulators has to be addressed.

After closing the door in a driveway, the drivers side window suddenly fell into the door panel. the window could not be raised to the closed position. the window regulator with part number 4l3z-1823201-ca had to be replaced at a total cost of $553. this could have been a very unsafe condition had it happended while driving in bad weather conditions or while driving in an area where there is a concern for personal safety.

I have had issues with a clunk sound when the window rolls all the way up. today as the window went up there was an even louder clunk sound and then the window slowly sunk back into the door. it was so loud that it sounded as if the glass itself broke causing me to flinch away. luckily there were no injuries asociated with it. the problem is with the window regulator. apparently there are hundreds/thousands of complaints of similar issues with the 2004/2005 models. when i called the ford dealership and described the problem they immediately knew what it was and said that it was common.

 1. i was driving 35 mph home from the dog park and the window popped when i was closing it. 2. this window regulator failure has happened to my ford 150 six times. i have to take apart the paneling and place a piece of wood to hold up the window because i can't afford 400 dollars each time this happens. drive window once, rear driver side passenger two times, right passenger rear window once and the back window middle slider two times. 3. the corrections taken for past regulator failures is to get the piece replaced from the manufacturer ford. yes i have the bad parts.

On three different occasions, i have had my window slam down suddenly while driving. once i was driving 45mph and once i was actually doing at least 65 mph on the freeway. it nearly caused me to crash twice. today my husband was driving and the same thing happened. after only researching for approximately 15 minutes, i have seen several complaints regarding this matter. many complaints posted on your site have occurred within the last 30 days! there are also several on google. is someone waiting for an injury or death before they take action?! at this point it has only cost my family money and nerves. i hope it never has and never will cost someone a family member. will your office be held accountable for not acting on these complaints? will anyone? or does an injury have to occur first? please make ford recall the window regulator!

When operating the power window of my 2005 ford f-150 there was a sudden bang and the window fell down inside the door cavity. researching this on the internet i have found that many others have had the same failure. ford has so far refused to do anything other than charge hundreds of dollars to the consumer for repairs to these failed power windows. in many, many cases as soon as one window fails the others begin to fail within weeks. i urge you to fully investigate and use your authority and influence with ford motor company to initiate a recall.

I have been changing out my regulators for my f-150 5.4 liter xlt 2005 since 2008. total amount of times is up to three and today 08-16-2010 my driver side window is now stuck in the down position. coming home from work driving the speed limit on the highway today i was rolling down my window and then heard a crack and then it wouldn't roll back up. well i knew what the sound ment because i have had to change all the other three windows in my truck and heard the same noise when it happened to them. total amount of money spent on just the first three window regulators and labor $1,062.54, that's not counting what i'm about to spend the forth time on my drivers side window. i was told and on the receipts it has replaced with new parts, did not see the old parts that were taken out though. this is getting old, is there anybody out there that can stop this. i know that i'm not the only one that this is effecting.

I have a 2005 ford f150 with 45k miles on it i was driving down the road at about 30mph and all of the sudden the driver side window fell down all by itself no warning nothing. scared the heck out of my wife. it appears it is a common issue and that ford is aware they have the issue but refuse to do anything. it cost $450.00 to replace the regulator and judging by what i read this will not be the last time i have to do this if i keep the car. i have had too many issues for so few miles

Notified today that there is an issue with removing and replacing spark plugs for the ford 5.3 triton v8 3 valve engine. ford has issued a technical service bulletin tsb 08-7-6 and it is not available on your website. why? if this is indeed a manufacturers defect should it not be covered by their original warranty or the magnusen-moss warranty act and or the ucc, article 2. this procedure can be both timely and costly for a consumer. i have received quotes ranging from 250 to 1600 dollars. should the consumer be expected to shoulder the burden of this issue?

While driving my 2005 ford f150, the back window slid down. my daughter pushed the button to roll it up and a loud crunching sound with a pop followed. the function of the button is no longer operable. this is the second time this type of occurence has happened, which has resulted in approximately $800 in repairs. the first time was over a year ago on the driver's window.

Driving down a busy downtown interstate, smooth pavement, bumper to bumper traffic and i hear a loud pop and sound of glass breaking from the left side of my vehicle. lot of road rage in the city i live in, so for a second i thought someone shot thru my window so i reacted with a quick swerve and almost collected the car to my right. after i got to a place to stop and investigate the drivers side door glass was gone. i took the vehicle to my mechanic and he informed me the window regulator had failed and let the glass fall to the bottom of the door and shatter. i understand from info from my mechanic and on the net this is a common problem for ford products. i could have easily collected the other car in my situation and caused a major accident. no telling how many have been killed because of this and ford gets off scot-free because the persons in the fords it happens to are dead and can

My 2005 ford f-150 front passenger window fell inside the door. this is the second time i have had this same problem, first time it was my front driver side window, the dealer repaired it, it was the regulator. this time i disassembled the door panel so i could 'attempt' to fix the problem myself. upon looking inside the door at the regulator/motor, all i saw was the cable wrapped around the regulator.

I have a 2005 ford f150 super crew pickup truck. as driving in a parking lot heard a very loud crash coming from a drivers to work a raise my arm to protect myself from flying glass that was expecting to contact me at my looked at the and/or glass it was still intact. the sound startled everyone in the car and including small children in the back seat. i stopped the car and checked to make sure everybody was okay which they were. i had to disassemble the door panel so that i could get the window and up as it was chilly outside. the following day i checked on the internet to see what was involved and replacing this broken window regulator and found that this is an extremely common problem on ford truck's from 2004 - 2008. i contacted the ford dealer and they stated that there was no recall or service bulletin. i suffered no injury but the potential is certainly there for a very large number of vehicles.

This is the second time my window regulator failed in my truck. i was on the freeway and the regulator popped and the window fell. this, alone, scared me enough to make a jolt in my truck and secondly created quite a problem while driving on the freeway. if the weather conditions were not as good as they were, it would have been a serious problem.

Multiple window regulator assembly failures during normal use of the vehicle and even parked in some instances. it happens randomly and causes much stress. if you are driving in the extreme heat, snow or a heavy rain storm you can do nothing about it. if you have passengers especially small children they will have to suffer until you can get to a service station or have the tools on hand to fix it. once the window falls you are exposed to the elements with no protection from having the window up. the window falls into the door and you cannot get the window back up unless you take the door panel off and manually shove the window up and place something there to hold it. i have had the parts replaced every time and it continues to happen and to multiple people. it has happened to me five times in three years.
