Yes my 4x4 is not working and i have read over 300 post easy about the same problem people are having. thousands of people are having the same problem i have had with my truck. obviously if there are that many people with the same year of truck and same problem why isnt ford doing a recall? they say the problem is the iwe, solenoid, the problem why it happens in the first place is there isnt a rain cover over the solenoid underneath the hood. i do believe that this is a hudge saftey hazzard and almost caused me to be in an accident about three weeks ago because my four wheel drive went out! ford please do a recall before someone gets hurt or even die! i do believe that ford should be responsible for this issue and have a recall to get these vehicles fixed.

After noticing a low tire my driver was attempting to air it up but to no avail and we noticed it was leaking at a weld on the rim. we took it to a dealer and was told it was cracked about a third of the way around the rim where the center was welded to the outer rim. i had to buy a replacement wheel but our concern is that this might happen again. if it had cracked much farther the outer rim would have separated from the vehicle. has this problem been reported before. thank you curtis peterman alexander mechanical kansas city, mo

Fordmotor company on the 2005 ford f150 there has been over 1000 complaints about the actuator on the four wheel drive ther is a vacum switch that operates them water runs down off the cowl contaminating the vac.line causing the acuator to go out therewas a service bulletin put out showing that they new of this problem and did nothing to correct it. the switch controls the vac. to the actuator with no vac. the four wheel drive is engauge when .to make it simply it takes vacum to disengauge the four wheel drive if you are going down the road and the switch fails whats going to happen you will ruin the four wheel drive actuators and could get into or cause a accident

While investigating a front tire with an air leak, it was discovered that the outer rim (where the tire bead seats) of the steel oem wheel had split away from the rest of the rim for a circumferential length of over 10 inches near the tire bead sealing surface. it appears that the outer portion of the rim was almost to the point of separating from the rest of the wheel and allowing the tire to dismount from the wheel. if that had occurred in traffic, the results easily could have resulted in serious injury. this is a 17 inch six lug oem wheel with the chrome clad front surface from a four wheel drive f-150. this wheel was removed from service, but we are concerned about other similar wheels on this and other trucks and would be interested to know which other wheel types have the potential for similar defects due to similar manufacturing techniques. *tr

Purchased a 2005 f-150 4x4 ford pick-up truck and immediately felt a strong vibration throughout the truck. took it back to three different dealerships each one claiming they fix it. the vibration still exists and now the steering wheel is vibrating. i believe this truck is unsafe. i will continue to exhaust all avenues to repair or replace this truck. *nm
WHEELS - RIM

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 ford f-150. while driving 70 mph, the front passenger side tire blew out. the contact is concerned that the corrosion on the rims caused the blow out and could potentially cause a crash. the dealer confirmed that there was corrosion around the rims and informed the contact that the tires needed to be replaced and that the tire was low. the contact replaced the tires frequently due to the low tire pressure. the dealer also stated that the valve stem where the air was applied and the rim were leaking air as well. the dealer stated that replacing the tires should remedy the failure; however, the tires continued to lose air pressure. the failure mileage was 30,000.

No injuries involved. while traveling along a local highway at approx. 45 to 50 mph, i experienced a blow out of the left rear tire on a 2005 ford f150 xlt extended cab-shortbed pickup. upon inspection of the tire/rim by the aaa technician, it was determined that the oem steel rim had split open thus causing the blowout . it was further determined that the rim had split nearly 2/3 of the way around the rim. this is a stock oem steel rim with a chrome outer clad surface. as the truck is of high mileage ( i drive nearly 4200 mi. month), the local ford dealership was reluctant to replace it. i requested that the rim be inspected by the regional ford rep. that handles warranty claims. the rim is scheduled to be inspected on june 8, 2007 at which point a decision shall be rendered. no accident was involved, however if the wheel had been on the front of the vehicle, and i had been traveling at freeway speeds of 65 plus miles per hour, the potential would have existed for a serious accident as the result of sudden loss of vehicle control.
