I have a 2007 f150 at the time of incident my family and i were in ct and were doing approximately 45 mph on a highway. the truck began to buck violently and dropped to 20mph with out a warning or lights. then it started to run normal then started the same thing all over 20 minutes later. come to find out that the spark plugs needs to be replaced. no garage will touch it due to fords poor design ford says it will cost approximately five hundred dollars plus due to the poor design the spark plugs can brake in the cylinder heads. they said it can be $50.00 per broken spark plug and possibly more if the plug cannot remove broken part. i should only pay for plugs not fords design floor which need to be recalled. *tr

Vehicle was sitting in a parking spot at a post office. i started the vehicle and did not give it any gas and the engine revved to 6000 rpm's. not knowing what happened, i turned the engine off. i started it again and it did the same thing but started to come down in the rpm's but i still turned engine off. i started it a third time and it revved again but came back to normal rpm's. all this without giving it any gas. in april of this year the same thing happened to my other f-150 that is a 2005 which i will also file a detailed report on following this report. the ford dealership said it was the throttlebody and it had to be replaced. they said other fords were having the same problem but ford has not done a recall and has failed to recognize the seriousness of this problem. as you will see in my report on my 2005, it could have resulted in a fatality due to this issue. looking at blogs in the internet, others have had this same problem. my wife was driving the 2005 approaching a stop sign entering into a very busy street and the engine revved and pulled the vehicle into oncoming traffic before my wife was able to depress the emergency brake and bring the vehicle to a stop. the same issue according to the ford dealership was the trottlebody.

Was experiencing a shutter similar to the feeling of a misfire when accelerating up a grade from level road conditions. this shutter was between 1250 and 1500 rpm. took the vehicle to ford dealership who eliminated coil pack and torque converter as the source of the problem. i had taken another vehicle i own to a repair shop i have used foe several years for an oil change and when i picked up my vehicle i mentioned the problem i was having with my 2007 ford f150 and they advised that my problem was probably misfire on one or more plugs. they advised me that they had dealt with this same problem over the past few years. they proceeded to inform me that there was a major problem with replacing the plugs-they could break when removing. if that happens and it did (4 plugs broke) then additional labor costs would be added to my bill. end result a bill for $600.00 to replace 8 spark plugs. absolutely absurd. as a part of this experience i have learned that ford mfg this engine from 2005-2007 and when this issue began to surface that they changed the engine design to eliminate this problem. ford was obviously aware that a future problem was going to be faced by the consumer. why should we the consumer have to bear the full expense to pay for their flawed design in this engine. they should be willing to admit their mistake but apparently it is going to take some legal pressure to get this done. if they do not step up i will never by another ford.

2007 f 150 king ranch spark plugs break when removing them (ford cheap spark plug system). the truck also pull/tugs like if your transmission is missing however, i've been to the dealer multiple times for ignition coil issues. they said i need to change spark plugs. these spark plugs ford said was to last 100,000 miles.

While driving truck it shut off suddenly without and warning, driver fuel pump control module. this unit is located in an area that is highly corrosive and has no protection against the elements. when this part failed i was driving in a parking lot at a low speed however i was told it can happen any time at all. once this part goes the vehicle is totally inop. i had to have the truck towed in to the dealer and the part replaced at a cost of $356.00 labor $125.00 parts. i was also told i was lucky it took this long and had better plan on doing it again in the near future as it is a common issue with all ford trucks. ford redesigned the part but the service manager told me it will happen again as it is only nickel coated and offers no protection from the elements.

Changed the sparkplugs on our 2007 ford f-150, and sparkplug broke off in the head, had to buy a special tool to remove it. this is a mojor problem with these trucks and are causing serious damage to other vehicles. how can ford and motorcraft get away with a poor design while consumers have to suffer and foot the bill for their mistakes. this needs to be a recall.

My truck was giving hesitation going up hills and i called to make an appointment with ford (mind you there was no engine light on) but before i could get it looked at the sparkplug blew out of it and although i have a warrenty ford is telling me it is not covered because i drove it that way like i was suppose to know the plug was loose as he says. the garage has the option of how they word it to determine if it is covered and they would not listen to me when i told them there was no warning. all they said is i drove it that way for so long that it was my problem.

At slow speeds, 5 to 10 mph, and when the engine is cold, when you attempt to brake for a stop, the engine can rev to 1750 to 2000 rpm, prohibiting your stop, potentially causing an accident. a hard braking action is necessary or shifting to neutral is required. after discussing this complaint with another ford truck own, we'd decided that our right foot was not only attempting to depress the brake pedal, but also the gas pedal simultaneously. both are in close proximity of each other, which provides for this opportunity. i'd suggest a design change, toward ford, separating the two pedals slightly in a better attempt to avoid this from happening. i'm sorry for the form submission, but it was in an attempt to correct a something i'd thought was a real issue. thank you for your time.

Evidently, ford has had a major problem with their truck spark plugs for years. just google ford truck spark plugs and you will find many complaining about this along with their unbelievable stories of misery this has caused. i am continually having the coils on the spark plugs go out. i replaced one and it cost me $262. now, i have another going out. the truck runs rough. i would replace all of them, but the ford dealership recommended not to because they said these plugs break off when trying to remove them and then tend to blow out of the engine after removing and replacing them. then, i researched this on the internet and read about the horror stories about these ford spark plugs. i have contacted ford by email, but they said until the nhtsa issues a recall, they will do nothing. please help us with this.

Our 2007 f150 intermittently losses power underload, stumbles, bug down and stalls.we had a very horrendous experience the last time it happened we almost got wiped out by an 18-wheeler tractor because ofextreme diffculty manuevering backwards downhill with stalled engine, no power steering, no power brakes. other drivers were so irate because we became road hazard at that moment in time. my husband keep ontrying to start the engine and lots of smoke came out of the dash. he immediately opened the hood and isolated the battery. a certified mechanic recommended that we should address the ignition spark plug problem due to the symptom and mileage of the truck. we then found out that #4 firewall-passenger side spark plug was broken (specialty tooling rotunda and cal cannot remove it). got lucky on the other 3 separated once the tools managed to remove them. it needs $1000-$3300 to rectify the damage done by the bad product designed motorcraft spark plugs. ford denied help on potential repair bill due to warranty lapse. the dealer recommended not to need any tune up except filter/oil changes prior to 100,000 miles. at the present we got rob of our only reliable? mobility.however ford credit keeps collecting from me to pay for a dead horse. ford had full awareness of the cancer in these said engines but failed to notify the f150 owners. for the safety of both motorists and pedestrians alike, does this very serious driveability problem warrants an immediate investigation and recall. the problem started oct 2010, nov 2010 we thought it was bad gas so we keep changing fuel filters, then dec 22, 2010 it died on the freeway.
