While breaking to make right hand turn engine stalled. first indication was truck was impossible to steer. i was able to stop truck in the middle of the intersection. at a higher speed this would have been deadly. ford dealer claimed to have never heard of the problem even though an internet search shows thousands of such incidents, many of them reported to this agency. dealer was unable to find a cause, although the manager said it was likely the throttle body but he could not replace a part under warranty unless it was positively known to be defective. i was sent on my way to risk my life in an unsafe vehicle. *tr

When declerating to a stop or stopped the engine will die. when i attempt a restart the engine will try to turn over for 10-15 seconds then stop. after 3 or 4 attemps and giving a little gas the truck will start. this has now happened 5 times to me in the past 2 weeks. i took the truck to ford and they didnt return any codes so nothing repaired. they fit my truck with a recorder and i am suppose to press a button next time it dies. this seems to be a serious issue as i have seen dozens of posts with the same issue.

Problems incurred second day of driving...into ford dealer @ 1800 miles...now 30,000.severe transmission hits @ start & stop violent slamming between gears and when dowshifting complete slipage/disengagement when backing up slight grade. left front brake drags with wheel sliding on ice-snow, brake linings smoke and smell and rotor 386 degrees with others @ 124-160. in to 3-different ford dealerships a total of 6 times and with factory ford technician once and told twice by ford dealer shop managers that there is nothing they can...will do. all say they've re-programmed the transmission and cleared the learning curve. no codes stored or seen....ford has tried to tell me basically...i'm nuts and everything is fine...have four written statements of other drivers of my truck as to what they've incurred...makes no differenc. have filed with bbb and going to arbitration, which from what all the other ford f150 owners are saying...will be an exercise in futility...and time. have given ford diagrams showing transmission problems....have given ford written and verbal descriptiions of under what conditions it happens and to drive under same and expierence for themselves...they all refuse to enter my complete descriptions onto work order or drive it under conditions described. have no idea why 3-400,000 ford f150 owners do not file a class action...only way ford will respond.........will not...cannot drive on ice/snow for fear of losing control when both brake and transmission problems may occur.

The downhill decent control fault light comes on at random times while driving down the road. when the fault light comes on and remains on., it also causes the brake lights on the vehicle to come on and remain on until you can the fault light decides to go off. so while driving down the road, and even worse, when in traffic, the fault light may come on and cause the brake lights on the rear of the vehicle to shine, signaling to other drivers that this vehicle is slowing or coming to a stop, when it is not. this can, in certain instances, be very dangerous. turning the vehicle ignition off will at time alleviate the problem, but that is not always an option while driving down the road, or in traffic. the light also comes on with no warning, and with no use of the system that is indicated is faulting.

While driving toward a busy intersection the vehicle lost all power! including brakes and steering! i rolled out into the major highway causing vehicles to have to swerve to miss me! this is not safe!! the emergency lights would not work, nor would anything else on the vehicle. after about a minute the power came back on to the truck as if nothing had happened. i have 2 babies that ride with me and will not take a chance of this happening again! the truck is now at the dealership and will not be picked up until the problem is fixed. i have also contacted and retained a lawyer should this major problem become an issue for me. this is obviously a vehicle defect that can be closely compared to the toyota recall! someone is going to get killed with this problem!!

Tl- the contact owns a 2010 ford f150. the contact stated while he attempted to stop the vehicle front brakes engaged violently and he felt as if he will eject the vehicle through the windshield, the failure occurres intermittently. the manufacturer stated they are aware the failure exists on some of the 2010 vehicles, but with time it should correct itself. the vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous times for the failure. the dealership diagnosed advised the failure does exist, but could not correct the failure, because the manufacturer will not pay for the repair. the failure mileage was 75 and the current mileage was 10,000. li

Aggressive braking system on 2010 f150 4 x 4. ford deems this to be a normal characteristic with this vehicle but according to their ssm 21458 it states that only some f150 are affected. it also states in the ssm that it can get worst before it gets better. when braking it feels like you hit the front brakes on a bike. i had two dealers look at this problem but with this ssm it states that they can not preform any service. yet when talking to a srvc tech they agree the brakes are not what they are use to. leaving and opinion that they to agree with the customer. in my opinion ford realizes that there is a problem why else put out an ssm there must of been previous complaints on this issue in order for ford to acknowledge this.i can send you a copy of this ssm if needed. please supply your address. this issue started when i picked up the vehicle. my other concern is, if my brakes are part of the some that is normal what about the other some?? thanks
