SUSPENSION

At apx 10,00 miles on my 2010 f150 i started getting a clunk/bump in the driveline when stopping and starting. sometimes it was worse when turning. i am a 20 year vetran mechanic with prior ford dealer expierience. i have not been able to get this issue resolved by the local servicing ford dealer vanbortel ford. it has been in many many times for the same complaint. in the life of this vehicle it has had an engine replaced at 20,00 the torque convertor at 25,000 the driveshaft at apx 35,000 the rear springs at 37,000 and the issue still persist's. it is in now on 12/26/2012 for a trans leak, poor engine/trans performance and reduced ecomomy from reflashing the trans several times as well as the same clunk/bump when starting and stopping. my concern is that the unkown defect causing clunk/bump could cause a safety issue by locking up or failing at speed.

Around 25000 miles the truck has developed a significant shake while being driven at 65 or above mph. it has become unsafe to drive on freeways. ford motors refuses to address the situation or make repairs although the vehicle is still in full warranty.

My truck wonders all over the road and shakes to the point that the passenger is sick. hard to steer out of ruts and crosswinds blow the truck in to the next lane and you can't control it. can't take your eyes off the road in front of you to even look at the exit signs because the truck is unsafe and unpredictable to the point that your hands are going to turn numb from lack of blood in your fingers due to the white knuckles from hanging on to the steering wheel so tight. very unsafe. i have taken it in to the dealer 4 times now and they have replace both front springs and struts and have replaced the rack and pinion 2 times now. i was told that the factory tires are not that great and have soft side walls and that could be the reason as to why it's not fixed and the ford shocks are under rated for the vehicle. so i have put new bilstien 5100 shocks on all the way around and have put better tires and wheels on it. truck still does the same thing. this truck is unsafe and have read other complaints on here. here are the other complaint #'s. 10392353, 10407502, 10336730. i just can't believe ford has not acknowledged any of the complaints on this site. someone is going to die or burn to death and i hope it's not me or my family. the only recall i can find on this truck is the door handle and was told it doesn't pertain to my truck. i would like to file for a class action lawsuit if anyone is interested because i know i am not the only one out there who is afraid to drive their $46,000 truck that's not even 2 years old yet. this truck was suppose to be built ford tough. i will be trading this p.o.s in as soon as i can cough up all of the negative equity that i have acquired due to the high price of this lemon. i have said my peace and now it's on file just in case i crash and burn, at least i know my family will be taken care of now (i hope).

My vehicle rides nearly identical to odi case 10392353. while driving out of town i had to slow for a rough spot on the road where the pavement had sloughed away on a gentle angle. after going through the area i tried speeding up from about 50kph (35mph). the truck's steering wheel began to swing back and forth and the truck was vibrating/shaking badly. my 2010 ford xtr 4x4 has approx. 36000 kms (22000 miles) on it. at speeds between 85-95kph (55-60mph) the truck also begins to shake/vibrate. in addition, whenever it hits any rough pavement or potholes-even the slightest- it wobbles like jelly. it has 18 goodyear wrangler tires. i have taken it twice to the dealer within the past 3 weeks. after the first visit, i had the tires re-balanced just to eliminate tire balance issues. both times they road tested it and said it just stiff suspension. they asked me to road test a similar vehicle with like mileage and tires. it did the same but not as violently. they said the problem around the 85-95kph is related to torque-converter wanting to lock up. my job requires a lot of driving but the 'bowl-of-jelly' ride, as i would describe it, makes for nevous driving as the thought of hitting a soft, rough, or any kind of road blemish while meeting traffic and maybe being thrown into the path or crossing center line is always there.

2010 ford f-150. consumer writes in regards to a complaint with vehicle dealership . *smd the consumer stated in january 2012, he started to hear an incessant high pitched squeaking noise coming from the rear driver's side of the vehicle. the dealer informed the consumer the squeaking noise was coming from the tailgate latch assembly on the driver's side. the dealer stated they lubricated both sides and was road tested and the noise was gone. the service rep, then gave the consumer a tube of silicone that was used primarily for brake components and informed the consumer, if the noise returned, lubricate the tailgate latch. for awhile, there was no noise coming from the vehicle. approximately two weeks later, the noise had returned. the consumer went to another dealer, to have the vehicle inspected. the dealer informed the consumer, that the previous dealer provided him with the wrong type of lubricant and the dealer reassured him the problem had been resolved. however, two months later, the noise had returned again. the consumer returned to the dealer again, where they chose to lubricate the tailgate latch assembly for the third time. the consumer stated he had other issues with the vehicle that were corrected, such as the right rear shock, the transmission slip yoke, a loose fuel door and a rattling noise in the driver's side door panel.

Tl- the contact owns a 2010 ford f-150. the contact stated the u-boats on the side of the vehicle that hold the rear axle in place, were not properly tightened by the manufacturer. there was a clanking noise coming from the rear of the vehicle whenever the contact drove over a bump in the road. the rear tires were balanced and an alignment was performed, but the failure continued to occur. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer who confirmed that the u-boats were 50 pounds under torque. the dealer stated the rear axle shifted out of place on the vehicle and it was just a matter of time before the axle detached from the vehicle. the failure and current mileage was 15,500. rvk

We noticed a very bumpy ride, as a person would expect when driving down a rough gravel road with pot holes. when the ford mechanic checked it out, we were told both rear shocks were no good gone. we have not had any loads to cause this problem. is this a defect or an isolated incedent?
