Tl*the contact owns a 2006 ford f-250 super duty. while driving 70 mph, the steering wheel shook and made a rattling noise. the contact had difficulty controlling the steering wheel. in order to stop the shaking, the vehicle had to be slowed down to a minimum speed of 50 mph. there were no warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. the failure has occurred four times. the dealer stated that the air pressure in the tires caused the shaking. the contact received a letter, which stated that his make and model vehicle was experiencing issues with the steering. the vehicle will not be repaired because it is not under warranty. ford is aware of the failure, but refuses to issue a recall. the failure mileage was 20,000 and current mileage was 64,000. updated 06/08/09 *bf the consumer was told the steering dampener was too small for the vehicle. updated 06/18/09

My tires sidewalls are completely coming apart with deep cracks in sidewalls. the tires are not very old,the pick-up isn't used for hauling heavy loads and has not been stored in hot areas..the tires have been rotated regularly and have been inspected by a tire place that has said that the truck is not safe to drive. the consequences of these tires coming apart obviously would result in a major accident which could result in death. i have tried to get the tires replaced but have gotten no-where and was only offered a possible small rebate after would have paid full price for a new set. *tr

Wheel vibration, steering wheel oscillation after going over rough or uneven surface, causing lack of control and sometimes lane shift, this happens around 50/55 mph and higher and mainly in a slight left hand curve, does not happen all the time. truck has been seen at dealer from almost new, tried balancing tires quite a few times, change rim, forced balance tires, put steering damper on truck. damper helped but did not cure the problem, have come close 4 times to losing control of veh and wrecking. *tr

My wife and i were driving my 2006 f-250 super duty on hwy 95 when my truck felt like i was in an earthquake. it was the worst violent shaking i have ever felt in a vehicle. it felt like all four tires exploded. so i fought my steering wheel and brake pedals to slow the truck down to finally skidded off of the side of the road, while cars are going by us 70 plus mile per hour, everything inside the vehicle fell off of the seats the drinks in the cup holders went flying. after seeing that all four tires seemed fine and that we did not hit anything on the road, we were scared to death to drive again. after visited the ford dealership the next day, they are still trying to figure out what is wrong with the vehicle, they said it was the tire balance and pressure, but there is no way this would cause such a violent death shaking experience. after doing my own research, it seems there are thousands of people with the ford super duty that are having this same word for word problem. please help me, before someone is killed by this ford mistake. i am scared to death to drive my brand new vehicle. thank you very much. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 ford f-250 superduty 4x4. while driving at an unknown speed, the contact drove over a bump and noticed that the vehicle would bounce and veer to the left or right. he took the vehicle to the dealer and they placed a bottoming out kit in the vehicle. afterwards, they lowered the air pressure in the tires and advised the contact to keep it at that set pressure. the contact noticed that the vehicle shook violently when driving on turnpikes and highways. he had no control of the vehicle unless he slowed down or stopped the vehicle. the condition worsened as the vehicle became older. the contact scheduled another appointment with the dealer. he had not spoken with the manufacturer. the current mileage was 3,016 and failure mileage was approximately 8,000. updated 03-06-09 *bf the tire had a leak due to a defective valve stem. updated 03/11/09. *jb
