We have several 2006 f350 super duty 4x4 pickups. in the past two weeks two of them have broken out the eyes,on the left front axle, that retain the u joints. in the first instance , the spindle was then broken out around the upper ball joint eye. the steering control was gone completely at that point. in the second case the driver heard the axle break, stopped and turned the hubs out. the only damage was to the axle. the first incident cost approximately $1500 for the axle and spindle and the special tools to fix it. the second cost $500 for the axle. *tr

#1 2006 ford superduty f-350 4x4 death wobble.{term used in forums}.hit pothole after all the snow storms here in mo., and my truck shook violently until i reached 30 mph. seems to be alot of talk about this problem in the forums i have read. to date this is the worst time.has happened in the past, just never this bad. vehicle has 29,560 miles to date. i have new tires @ 50psi and had my alignment done by ford dealership at time of new install. my vehicle is well maintained by certified mechanics and have been told there is nothing wrong with my truck. question: have you had this complaint before? like i said, there are several forums on the web about this problem.#2 problem is the seat is just falling apart. unbelievable that it has worn thru with the little mileage i put on the vehicle. side support has completely collapsed and material is coming apart.ford says o-well. times up for your factory warranty. *tr

I purchased my 2006 superduty new in june 2006 when the truck was new i had some shaking in the front end at speeds over 65 but recently it has got much worse. this has occurred at least ten times now and the last few times on the interstate when going around 70 mph if you hit rough spots it will start a violent shake if i slowly reduce speed it will stop around 45 mph. i am starting to think it is not even safe enough for my family to ride in the truck anymore. my dealer says they don't see any problems so i have not been able to get anything done to resolve this problem even though the truck has less than 36,000 and is still under bumper to bumper warranty till june of this year. i have had many fords over the past 8 years and i would like to think that ford will take care of this if they want to keep me as a loyal customer. i don't think i should be responsible to pay for fords design flaws out of my pocket (if there even is a way to fix it). if ford will not do something to permanently fix the problem my wife and i will no longer buy from them. *tr |
