The public really needs to be educated regarding the fact that ford motor company is covering up one of the largest problems in their automobile history regarding their hundreds of thousands of failed 2003 thru 2007 super duty 6.0 diesel pickups. if you could be so kind please help me and hundreds of thousands of other owners of these failed vehicles. please forward this email to your supervisors. i am currently re-pursuing legal action along with media coverage to expose this terrible situation with these ford vehicles that is ruining family finances while trying to keep these vehicles constantly repaired. many owners including myself our being forced to build much less than safe lifts to remove the cabs from these trucks to repair the constantly failing engine components. i tried to include these digital pictures clearly indicating the deadly cab lifts we our forced to try and build because of the dealer costs. please indicate how i can upload these pictures for you review. for 47 years i thought ford stood for first on race day. wow, was i completely wrong! in the past 9 months i have spent over $15,000 out of my pocket and bank loans just trying to keep my ford vehicle repaired due to their horrible engineering abilities. my warranty was 28 days out of warranty and 80,000 miles under in warranty. they refused to help me in any way, shape or form. i represented myself in two court cases against them and lost. when, not if, i can afford an attorney, ford will finally be exposed to their cover ups from the public! ford: fix or repair daily!!

I have a 2005 f350 4x4 drw 6.0 diesel with 70,000 miles, the truck was started one morning and white smoke started coming from the exhaust and the truck had no power, there was no warning and the dealer says its the egr cooler and recommends that the head gaskets get done also for a total of $4800.00. i have researched this problem and the international built motor has this problem alot but i have not seen any recall on this why??? for the cost of this type of truck it should last longer than 70,000 miles and if i would have been driving this vehicle what would of happened??? also per the dealer ford knows this problem exist but yet nothing has been done to protect the consumer

2005 ford f-350 super duty truck with a defect in the ford 6.0 liter diesel engine**cc the consumer stated while towing a 10,000 pound fifth wheel trailer up a steep grade, nearing the top of an 8800-foot summit, he experienced a sudden, total and complete engine failure. it was explained to the consumer by a ford technician that the diesel engine uses both electric impulses and oil pressure to open the injectors. the oil system for the injectors is separate from the main lubrication system in the engine and runs at about 3000 psi. there is some internal plumbing for the oil system that has rubber connecting hoses and seals that are prone to leaks, but in the consumers case total failure. as soon as the oil pressure is insufficient to open the injectors, the engine just stops. the consumer stated on a second trip, one of the turbo hoses blew off. *jb

July 1, 2006 at approximately 10:30 am, i was traveling on i-81 at 65 mph towing a 9,000 lb. trailer and the truck stalled without warning. no check engine light and no hesitation. it simply died. without power brakes or steering, the truck was completely uncontrollable. luckily, we were on a section of highway with wide shoulders and light traffic. the truck died so suddenly that i couldn't even pull to the shoulder. the truck came to a complete stop in the left lane and would not restart. drivers behind me swerved to the should to avoid a collision. the dealer did not find a problem and did nothing to prevent this situation from occurring again. after the truck sat at the dealer for 2 days (over the weekend), it started for the technician on the following monday. the dealer informed me that nhtsa #05v270000 does not apply to my truck, although this campaign number describes the exact situation that occurred with my truck. the truck and trailer combined weigh approximately 19,000 lbs. 19,000 lbs traveling at 65 mph and suddenly loosing brakes and steering is a death waiting to happen. please help before an innocent motorist(s) get killed by this truck. *jb

I have had my 2005 f-350 diesel towed to the dealer three times now for stalling and not starting back up. each instance they show loss of oil pressure and blame me for not changing the oil every 3000 miles (recommended by ford every 5000 - 7000 miles) and getting bad gas. they replaced 4 cylinders the first time, 2 cylinders plus a fuel cup the second and they are now working on the third. *jb

I bought my truck in february 2005 w/ less than 150 miles. my first major complaint with the truck is the awlful smell (exhaust) that enters that cabin when the truck is running. this is something that has been an ongoing problem. it has never had that new truck smell. the second major complaint with the truck, is the dead spot in the accelorator pedal. if you need to speed up quickly, it can't be done. you hit a dead spot in the accelorator where you have absolutely no power! if i needed to speed up to pass someone, etc., i can't do it. i am frustrated with my truck and i do not enjoy driving it.

Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) on 3/26/10 my 2005 ford f350 6.0 diesel started smoking from the exhaust while hauling horses to a show. i was approx. 70 miles from home. had the truck towed into my local ford dealer to find out that the egr valve went bad and also overheated my turbo. my truck has 58,000 miles and i purchased the esp 100,000 warranty however, they said my warranty expired on 3/21/10. the bill was $3900. and ford is not covering it. now i come to find out that this has been a huge issue for ford & the repairs don't seem to hold either as most people have had this reoccur 2 or more times. this was not a problem i could have prevented in any way but a problem with the engine itself. what can i do & is there a recall?  I have a 2005 ford 350 superduty 6.0 diesel truck. i pull a large 5th wheel unit. it is within the weight range indicated by ford. i have installed a thermocouple gauge to monitor the engine exhaust temperature. i was told by ford dealer that the normal exhaust gas temperature (egt) should be between 750 and 900 while pulling the unit. under a nominal hill climb, i noted the egt never got below 1000, even when the transmission shifted to a lower gear. it was hard keeping the egt under 1400. i had to travel at 55 mph and in 4th gear to maintain the 1000 degree temperature boost was between 24 and 28 psi. near the top of a climb, the turbo hose blew. the dealer said it was a dirty gate valve or dirt in the vanes of the turbo. during the vacation they replaced the gate valve and the turbo. after vacation and without the 5th wheel attached, i noted the egt, under normal street driving, runs at 800 to 1000 degrees. if this is an indication of the engine/turbo design, this engine is doomed to fail. i believe ford should have known these issues before they sold these trucks. i know the turbo will fail again. if there is recourse, i would like to know. *jb
