We have a ford 2005 f-450 rack body truck. in 2007-08 we paid a ford dealeership approx.$4000 to replace fuel tank, fuel pump and injectors on said vehicle. just this week, a different ford dealership informed us that the original problem happened again and we would incur similar expences because ford does not consider this a defect on their part but a problem with the fuel.

I have a 2005 ford f-450 that was loosing power going down the road. i had just replaced the fuel filters about two thousand miles before. when i removed the frame mounted fuel filter it was full of silver metal flakes. i called the service manager at ford and was told it was delamination of the fuel tank. of course my three year / thirty six thousand was out . the one hundred thousand on my motor covered everything but the fuel lines and fuel tank. i think this is bull and ford should be responsible for this problem. by the way i've seen many complaints on this problem. my truck has fifty eight thousand miles on it . ford told me it was costing me about one thousand dollars to fix it. to me its just going to be a temporary fix from what i can tell from all the complaints.

My 2005 f-450 began losing power. i took it in to a dealership to get it fixed,(still under warranty). the problem is that the fuel tank is coming apart inside. the tank is lined inside with a sheet of aluminum. the aluminum is coming apart inside the tank and clogging the fuel system. so the dealership said i need a new fuel tank, fuel pump, injector pump, and new fuel injectors. this tank is defective. this has been a problem in these trucks since 1999-2008. ford knew this was happening. ford has had thousands of complaints about this problem. now the dealership wants to charge me $4200.00 to fix, even under warranty. dealership says ford will not cover there defective part. i'm the only one who drives this truck, always use pump fuel no biodiesel ever.
