Defect SummaryLdv is recalling 81 trucks built on chevrolet and ford my 2007-2009 c5500, my 2008-2009 w5500, and my 2008 f-650 chassis specifically for snap-on tools for use as a mobile supply company. there may be a cable installed on the battery isolator with the body of the cable lug facing the isolator. with all cables tightened down on the stud, this cable lug may be pressed against the cooling fins of the isolator, where contact poses a risk of electrical short which could result in cables overheating.

Corrective SummaryDealers will conduct a two-step remedy. the first step is to inspect the cable installation to ensure all cables are installed with the lug body facing away from the isolator with none in contact with the cooling fins. the second step is to add a grounding strap or able to he aluminum box to properly ground it and the components mounted within it. the recall began on march 6, 2009. owners may contact ldv at 608-257-3911.

 Tl-the contact owns a 2008 ford f-650. the contact was driving 35 mph when he applied the brakes and the pedal was abnormally depressed into the floorboard. the vehicle did not respond and the contact had to shift into neutral in order to stop the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaced the master cylinder and clutch slade but the brakes continued to fail. the contact stated that the clutch slade cylinder and master cylinder failed and was repaired four times. the manufacturer was notified of the failure who provided a partial reimbursement to the contact for the cost of repairs and a complaint was filed with the manufacturer. the failure mileage was 80,000 and the current mileage was 122,000. kmj

 Tl-the contact owns a 2008 ford f650. the contact stated the clutch slade cylinder and master cylinder fail four different times. while driving 35 mph and depress the brake it would go all the way to the floor, he has to put the gear in neutral to stop the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaces the master cylinder and clutch slade but the brakes continues to fail. the manufacturer was notified who reimbursed him part of the expense that was paid on the repairs previously. there was a claim #611801950 that was file with the manufacturer. the failure mileage was 80,000 and the current mileage was 122,000. mw
