In both cases the motorhome lost its ability to stop this motorhome. i was able to slow down and avoid serious problems. after the components cooled down the system went back to working. i have had the brakes checked and no problems were discovered. i have talked to ford and have not gotten any help.*ak

Cruise control was set on 55 mph, applied brakes to disengage, did not work . pushed harder on brake, instead of disengaging, it started to accelerate. in order to disengage the cruise control had to manually push the on and off button, that was the only way. *ak consumer states cruise control works correctly now. brake switch wad replaced. *slc

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC - FOUNDATION COMPONENTS - DISC - CALIPER
04/20/2000211/01/1994
The front left and right calipers do not release as necessary to stop vehicle. the brake fluid temperature reaches an extremely high temperature which is causing the calipers to not release. these brakes have been completely rebuilt with new parts and taken apart again to re-lubricate in hopes of a successful repair. documentation available. thermopane window seals have become defective as they leak (condensation forms between panes of glass) company (fleetwood corp.) refused replacement based on shape of the corners of the glass. 7 out of 9 windows are affected including driver's window which is absolutely necessary to operate vehicle/ the remaining windows are througout the coach (except for windshield). a definite safety concern. dealer agreed they needed replacing, fleetwood declined.*ak

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC - SWITCHES - BRAKE LIGHT

Brake switch failed. this brakes switch has too much responsibility: brake lights, shift interlock (prevents shifting from park if switches is broken), and cruise control kick down. careful internal inspection suggests very poor design. *et
