| Defect Summary | Vehicle description: f-super duty stripped motor home chassis because they may have a missing or partially installed brake pedal to master cylinder pushrod retaining clip. | |||||||||||||||
| Consequence Summary | If the clip is missing or falls out, the pushrod could disconnect from the brake pedal, resulting in the operator being unable to apply the brakes, increasing the risk of a crash. | |||||||||||||||
| Corrective Summary | Dealers will inspect the retaining clip installation. missing or partially installed clips will be properly installed. in addition, dealers will also inspect vehicles for lower than intended wheel lug nut torque; incomplete transmission shift cable installation; steering column shift lever bracket bolt torque lower than intended; steering gear bracket fastener torque lower than intended; and lower steering column yoke bolt torque lower than intended. | |||||||||||||||

| Steering system: when vehicle is first started or drive on cold day there steering system is extremely difficult to turn. also when brake is applied steering wheel will stop at a half of a turn. excessive effort is required to turn. 2. brake rotors will sometimes vibrate when brake is applied. also anti-lock will turn on and drasticaly increase stopping distance. 3. transmission will sometimes not let me select first or second gear. vehicle must be in low or third, then shifted back into first to get going. *ak | |||
