| Parked my ford f150 in front of my house last evening about 6pm. nothing out of the ordinary about the way the truck was running or operating. was awakend at 3am this morning to my neighbor banging on my door,screaming your truck is on fire! i woke my husband, he and the neighbor put the fire out before fire dept showed up. all said and done. the investigation continued after day light, to find out that it was the cruise control recall part! recall was in 1999, i bought the 2000 ford in 2003 used. never recieved a letter about the recall and assumed that it had been repaired prior to me purchasing the vehicle. i called ford. they gave me a case number and told me that the legal department would send me a packet to fill out. but it would take 15 days before i would recieve the packet. | |||

| For the third time i am having to take my 2000 ford f150 in to have the heater core replaced the first two times i took it into the dealership to determine the problem. each previous time ended with the heater core being replaced. each time the issue is preceded by fluid leaking onto the street and into the cab. as it drips into the cab it gives off a pungent smell. the first time the heater core was replaced i paid 800 dollars for the work. the second time i took it in, i was informed that the issue was a common one but the warranty would cover the work for the heater core replacement at that time. i was told however that if i needed another core it would not fall under the warrantied work. | |||

| A 2000 f150 4x4 with four wheel abs. my mother was driving the truck and when she parked in her driveway she heard a steady low toned clicking sound from under the hood. she called her neighbour over to look in fear of not knowing what the unusual sound was. he found the noise was coming from the abs control unit under the hood and that it was extremely hot. he burned his fingers disconnecting the electrical harness from the unit. the noise stopped and the abs (amber) light is on with the wires unplugged. this is all at the same time my '01 mustang gt bullit had a major problem with its abs system, ref.odi #10361861 as previously submitted. i haven't had the system checked but thought it odd that both vehicles had overly expensive abs malfuntions at the same time. | |||

| Upon starting the engine, oem spark plug (motorcraft platinum awsf 22e) came apart and was ejected from cylinder on 2000 ford f-150 5.4l engine. ejection of spark plug damaged spark module. spark plug separated into two parts with center electrode being ejected but leaving the threaded portion of the plug inside the spark plug hole. *tr | |||
