Tl-the contact owns a 2002 ford f150. the contacted stated while driving at 5 mph he heard a loud noise and found that the fuel tank was dragging on the ground the fuel did not spill. the vehicle was towed to the dealer who found that the fuel tank straps were corroded. the vehicle has not been repaired. the failure and the current miles was 122,000. li

The front gas tank support hanger broke due to corrosion. the rear hanger held the tank in place until i was able replace both units. the rear hanger did not break but was severely corroded also. i don't know what would have happen if i would have lost both units together while driving down the road.

Fuel tank straps rusted out resulting in gas tank dropping.

The fuel tank dropped down from my truck as i drove. i stopped in the middle of the street, put my hazard lights on and got out to see what had happened. i didn't know what it was, it looked like maybe the end of the exhaust system, there was no liquid and no smell. i called for help and slowly pulled my car over at the nearest side street. when i got out, gasoline was pouring out and i could then tell that it was indeed the fuel tank that was hanging from the underbody of the truck. the fire department had to be called and i have to pay for the clean up of the fuel. the truck was towed to a repair shop and they said the straps that hold the tank up rusted out and failed. total repair cost will be around $1500.

While driving at 45 mph on level surface the #5 spark plug was ejected from it's hole damaging the coil over plug causing arcing from the coil to the engine. the vehicle immediately slowed dramatically and the smell of gasoline was apparent. luckily there was very light traffic and i was able to pull to the side of the road and shutdown the engine. i identified the problem and having some mechanical training knew enough to disconnect the fuel injector wire for the #5 cylinder. this was the only way i could safely move the vehicle. had i not known what to do, an engine compartment explosion would have easily resulted. *tr

The consumer has noticed a discrepancy in the mpg the manufacturer said the vehicle would get and the actual mpg the 2002 ford f150 get. *mr the consumer claimed that he never gets more than 11 mpg while driving in the city, on long distance trips, while pulling a trailer or while driving empty. *nm

On a 2002 ford f-150 harley davidson edition truck, the # 2 spark plug was ejected from the engine while driving 65 mph, causing my vehicle to slow down, and the gasoline and exhaust fumes were filing the drivers compartment. this is the second truck i have owned previous a (2003 same vehicle model) where the sparkplug has been ejected from the engine while driving. why is there no recall or study on this problem from ford?? engine still had original plugs from factory!! their tourque specs!!

My problem is with my ford 2002 triton engine, the spark plugs blow out which is dangerous because they can cause the gas vapors to catch fire and start surrounding areas of the motor , i have had this happen twice now and it is very costly, there should be recall done on this problem, i know of several other owners that have had the same problems, this is an accident waiting to happen, im sure others have had worse problems then myself with these types of engines, please help us by calling for ford to recall this obvious problem. thank you. *tr
