My ford f150 2004 power window regulator broke while i was driving. not only did it scare me because of slamming down so hard, it made me swerve off the road. thank god i got safely over, but was so shaken i had to wait before proceeding. it was l09 degrees that day and had to drive with the window broken and down. i know many people have had this problem with this model and year, why haven't you done anything about this. it is a safety issue that needs to be addressed to all consumers who own or going to own this auto. i can't afford to fix it now, they want nearly 400.00. i am so afraid my truck is going to get stolen, but what can i do? i also worry that when i park my truck in a public parking area, that someone may easily take my truck with me in it!!!!!!!!!

I had no warning at all before the power window crank broke on my 2004 f-150 it is stuck down with no way for me to roll my window up and it sounds like the window is going to break in the door i have not had any time to fix this part or the money to take it to the shop to get it fixed. i was just reading around the internet on how to fix it and have ready multiple stories of this being a problem on this model of truck

I was opening the back door of an extended cab, ford f150 2004, truck to get out of the back seat. another person was attempting to open the door for me using the outside handle. the handle caught my hand and severed my middle, ring, finger on my left hand. it cut through my fingernail and the bone. my finger was almost completely severed. it was sewn back on by an emergency room doctor. i've had to see an orthopedic doctor several times for pain and treatment. i am concerned that this door handle would do very severe damage to child's hand. it may severe several fingers of a child; this handle could severe a child's whole hand. *nm

Dear sir/madam i own a 2004 f150 super cab pickup truck with 4 doors, i am having a problem with the door ajar light. when the rear door is ajar the front door will latch to the rear door, which satisfies the door ajar safety light, but the front and rear door are not safely latched. i am a large man so my seat is as far back as it could go and the back is slightly reclined, when i get in and out of the vehicle my shoulder hits the rear door handle that protrudes into the drivers seat and at times will slightly open the door. i won't realize that i am driving with the door unsafely latched and have no idea that the door is ajar until i hit a bump large enough to rattle the door. my question is, is it safe to drive the vehicle with the front and rear doors ajar and in an ahead on collision will this area be compromised, thus would the crumple zone be affected drastically and would the stability of the vehicle be compromised? also is it safe in a side collision? i feel that this is a major safety concern and should be addressed immediately. i took the truck in for service at fullerton ford in somerville nj the said that ford said that this is normal and i called ford company they said this is normal and that i had no recourse with them. if i would have known that this was inherent to the f150 super cab i would not have purchased this model, i was told the f150 crew cab has this safety device installed thus the safety problem was addressed in this model but not the super cab. was this safety concern overlooked or knowingly omitted from the design? *jb

While driving on i-70 in missouri during a rain storm, i was the passenger in the 2000 f-150 that i own when we hydroplaned. while spinning through the median in a counter clockwise manner, my passenger door popped open. it was only by the grace of god, i wasn't killed, as i hung out the door only held in by my seatbelt. as the vehicle continued to spin around, the door slammed shut. we could not understand why that door would fly open. the force of the sudden opening damaged the hinge, door, and front fender. upon returning home to pennsylvania, i did some research and discovered others had similar problems. i contacted ford and they refused to accept any responsibility for the door coming open...after researching your complaint, we have nothing indicating any known problems that could cause that to happen. i am now almost afraid to drive my truck. please please please force ford to recall these vehicles to prevent others from being hurt or killed by failures like this.

2004 - ford 150 - supercab when the rear doors are closed, unless they are closed very firmly, only the lower latch will engage. the doors appear to be closed and only if you pull on the upper portion will you see a small gap open by the roof line.*ak when the front doors are then closed they also appear to be secure and the door ajar indicator does not comes on. because the front door are secured by the back doors, only the lower latch is now holding both doors which i believe may be an unsafe design.

We recently purchased a 2004 ford f-150 super crew, my 5 year old daughter was getting into the back seat of the vehicle, and she put her hand into the door jam area where there is what looks like a scissor hinge. if the door is not all the way open and a finger gets caught in there the door if pushed open closes the hinge. my daughters top left middle finger was almost completely severed off. she was taken to a local hospital where she received stiches and was referred to a hand surgeon. this hinge should be looked at and possibly redesigned, the only way to remove her finger from the hinge was to close the door slightly. *la
