| Two of the four window regulators have broke causing safety and security issues. the parts are expensive and defective. the last malfunction occued when i was driving down the road and the passenger window fell when the vehicle was parked. i heard a popping noise like somebody threw something at the truck and then the window fell into the door. my wife and i have two young children and this poses a large safety risk to them. these parts are obviously defective and should be replaced by ford motor company. | |||

| The left rear window, right rear window, right front window abruptly dropped into the door cavity. the service center at the ford dealer informed me that the cause of the malfunction is failure of the window regulators on all three doors. according to the ford dealership service center and my own investigation it appears that the window regulators on the 2004 ford f1 50 pickup trucks are defective. ford motor company acknowledges that the window regulators on the 2004 f150 pickup truck are indeed defective but they are unwilling to recall and replace the defective part unless your organization orders the recall. searching the internet i have come across scores of other ford owners with the same problem. there have been numerous requests for ford motor company to recall these vehicles and replace the defective window regulators. although ford motor company does not feel that this is a safety issue we ford owners do feel that it is. driving at 65 to 70 miles an hour and three windows abruptly drop into the cavity of the door it could and probably as been the cause of accidents. we urge you to petition ford motor company to recall the 2004 through 2006 ford f1 50 pickup truck and replace the manufacturers defective window regulators. | |||

| The window started making noise while rolling up and down and seemind like it was coming off the track.. while driving down the road the window fell completely in the door. we repleaced the window regulator and seems to work fine, until 3 months later another window did the same thing. i cannot afford to keep replacing the same part on my truck when there are obviously defects in the parts. i see many other ford owners with the same problem and think that something needs to be done! god forbid the window shatter while my children are in the truck. | |||

| I went to start the vehicle, hand slipped off of the key, the vehicle would crank but not turn over. tried to restart the vehicle numerous times. unplugged the battery, left it sit for 10-15 mins (thought it was the anti theft). later in the day a friend looked at it, troubleshot it as fuel pump- used owner manual to look at fuses, everything looked fine. concluded had to be with the fuel pump or sensor. had to have the vehicle towed to a garage, pulled the fuel pump sensor off, there was a giant whole in the outer layer and plastic was cracked. moisture fried the circuit board. the part is currently at vrtc. i am glad my vehicle was at home and not somewhere in a parking lot or far from home. no real signs of this happening prior to not starting. | |||

| I have a 2004 4-door f150, and have now had to replace 3 window motors, one in each door. the 3rd one happened yesterday. the first two happened back to back in 2010, so if the pattern follows, i'll be forking out more money to replace the final one. on the first 2 occurances, the car was moving, and the windows just fell down. the 3rd occurence happened when the car was parked. i have 2 small children, and if these windows fall down when they are near, it is a major concern of mine. there is a obvious sign that these window motors are defective. i can understand 1 of them breaking, but i'm going on 3, and just waiting for the final one to break here shortly! then after reading all the 2004/2005 f150 complaints about the same thing happening, there needs to be a recall because this isn't just a coincidence amongst all f150 owners! it's sad that ford cannot stand by their so called #1 selling truck. people spend a great deal on their cars, and this shouldn't be an issue that people need to be spending their hrad earned money on, especially since it seems to be a rather regular issue for so many people! | |||

| 2004 ford f150 window regulators.driving home at night window started loweering itself.no way to secure truck that night.took apart window and removed regulator.the part of the window that secures glass is a combination of metal and plastic the platic piece secures the cables that are attched to the power window motor.these plastic pieces are under too much stress and then either begin cracking or break altogether.this causes the cable to be unsecured thus causing the window glass to no longer have support. there are one of two easy fixes for this problem that i can see,or maybe three.the first is to redesign the part without the use of plastic.number two is to offer this particular piece separate because it actually can be remove without any problem from the window tracks and offer it as an alternative repair part for those who are mechanically inclined to repair it themselves,or have a recall on these regulators.i believe if a recall was offered on these regulators the fix would be the removable alternative part.too keep from having continuing recalls the part should be all metal or upgrade the plastic somehow although all metal would be better.if a recall is offerd ,dealers will want the small removable part as the fix i'm almost sure of.in the mean time i will have to search for the complete regulator with or without motor which is becoming difficult because most parts companies want to sell the the complete assembly or in my case don't offer the rear window regulator which forces us too have to go too ford and pay in excess of 200 dollars for the part and labor for those who are not mechanically inclined.anyway if door glass is falling and shattering this is a safety issue and because this can happen in extreme weather.also the vehicle cannot be secured causing theft to rise and thus insurance rates too rise also.tell ford to fix the problem. thankyou for this link. | |||

| My gently used 2004 ford f-150 with approximately 63k miles is having motor problems. there is severe ticking/knocking of the motor for no apparent reason. there is also a gross loss of power and the gas mileage has immensely decreased. all the required maintenance and service has been consistently done on this vehicle and it is mainly driven on the weekends due to the fact that i am a li to nyc commuter. i have taken the truck to ford and they are unable to help me without thousands of dollars of repair. this truck is gently used and was conveyed to be in excellent condition & excellent working order by ford at the time of purchase. there is no reason for this problem to occur. the vehicle has become unsafe to drive and ford refuses to take responsibility for the problem. | |||

| I was having a rattling noise under my truck for the past several months. my neighbor who used to work for ford thinks its the cables for the spare tire under my truck. he believes the spare tire cables are loose and need to be tightened. i looked in the owners manual to figure out how to get the spare tire out. i have to use my ignition key to open the lock to get to the tire. my key only fits half way in and wont open the lock. i used wd40 to maybe get it loose. tried again and nothing. i researched online and many people have the same problem. i called the dealer and they wont fix it for free since its not under warranty. what happens if i get a flat tire? i wont be able to get to my spare. this also happened on my other ford truck | |||

| Imy son and i was driving down the highway in the middle of winter and my drivers side electric window just fell down into the door. i tried to raise the window but all i could hear was the motor running. it was close to freezing temperatures outside and raining pretty hard so i pulled off the road to try and get the window up but had no luck. because it was raining and i was two hours from home my son and i couldn't make it home so we drove underneath an over pass and waited the rain out. after a 2 hour wait the rain slacked off so we attempted to drive home. we made it an hour down the road and the rain got heavy again so we pulled into a covered gas station. after an additional hour wait we hit the road again. it was a cold and wet ride home but we finally made it. no one was hurt but i constantly had to dry off the steering wheel because the rain water made it slippery. | |||

| I own a 2004 f150 ford pickup, i have had to replace the window regulator 2 times in 1 year. this is a serious issue, when the regulator breaks the window just comes crashing down. ford motor company has not recalled or done anything about this problem and come to find out there have been hundreds of consumers with the same problem. it appears the plastic clip in the regulator is what breaks, unfortunately the clip cannot be replaced so each time a complete regulator must be purchased the cost has been $400.00 each time. this is ridiculous!!! any help on your part would greatly be appreciated. | |||
